Apparently they've agreed a fee with Porto of 38m. Hazard, Marin and Hulk just this summer so far. What's that, £80m or something before the window's even opened? Ridiculous.
And some said Abramovich wouldnt be bothered after a CL win. I always felt Chelsea winning CL would be a bad thing. Now that he's finished buying the world cup for Russia, he's turned his attention back to the Chavs. Winning CL has reignited his desire to get back on top. Next season be prepared for a City-Chavski top 2, as they are the only two teams that can compete against each other financially All attacking players as well, obviously wasnt happy they had to resort to 10 man defence to win it
Surely all this spending by Chelsea also reduces your chances of winning the league for a good few years too... Or are you not bothered about winning it aslong as we don't?
Nope; class action against Uefa for fixing Europe. Because that's what they'd be doing if they create rules most clubs uphold only for the richest to ignore. Uefa might have thought this would look good but like any rule involving millions it'll end up in court. Those two clubs can continue to pay signing on fees for that many players for this year only. And then they will have to get very very creative to pay there wages for 3 years & stay in the black. One thing though; there'll be a garage sale at city of their first 20 mill players they bought, might be a gem in there on the cheap. And Chelsea are making at least 5 players glue....
I wish we had the funds to compete but we don't, and I wish we had the CL to have a chance, but we don't. Need to get the ball rolling but we need to buy for what we want within our team. Also, they are buying these players without a said manager in place, what happens if they hire someone who has no interest in these buys? I think this is a " see what I bought you? Come coach these new toys!" to potential managers.
Regardless of how much Chelsea spurge (is that a word?) this summer, or what City spend, they are beatable. We proved that last season with convincing performances against City. Let them try to buy whatever the hell they want, a team will play a group of overpaid mercenaries any day. We just need to get a winning mentality against the smaller clubs as well as what we always do against the big teams. Hopefully Rodgers kicks this home.
Good news then.. BBC news gossip - Apparently Sig, Allen and Williams are all wanted by Rodgers, which would make sense. I guess you're gonna be linked with half their squad in the next few weeks.
Was bound to happen: cautious, good for them doesn't always mean good for us, even if we are destined to play the same style. Chemistry. Even you lot have started to spend within means. For all the p*ss take about the Ronaldo millions & grumbles about glazers Loans, yer making sure to stay within the rules. Can only be good for you in the long term. Glazers might have the morals of H&G but their clubs profits cover their supposed excess...
good for them.... lol seriously you didnt expect them to do this? the very best thing they can do is rid themselves of the players who stab managers in the back and text jose...... if the buy a new team uefa will reward them not punish and they'll just push city to spend more too.
This is why the Champions League is important. Had Chelsea not won the CL, they would have been in the Europa League this season and do you think the likes of Hazard and Hulk would have gone to them?
Why ridiculous? Now if you had said Carroll Henderson and Downing for that price, then that would have been ridiculous. Oh wait a minute.....................
We were linked with half the Valencia squad when Rafa came in. We only signed Sissoko and Pellegrino (after a year) What does this mean for Torres?
