Chelsae are apparently eyeing up Drinks to replace Matic who's just gone to Man U for £40m... How would you feel about him going? Chelsea fans don't fancy it by the looks of things but Konte seems to be keen...

Also can't see Drinkwater wanting to be behind Kante, Bakayoko and Fabregas but you never know

In all seriousness given how ****e he was last season and is so far in preseason, if they offer an exchange with Lewis Baker then I'd take it.

I cant see it happening. Drinky is one of a few creative players. I cant see us wanting to sell him

Drinky creative?? not sure about that Proud. The odd good ball through for Vardy maybe..
He has been pretty awful for some time now and has carried on into pre season. Needs to buck his ideas up this season.

Can't understand why Chelsea fans are in meltdown at these rumours ..... lose Matic and bring in ......Danny Drinkwater!!!! <laugh> that would be funny

Hes still a solid player to be fair, not too inconsistent game to game, but certainly has had great seasons, like the promotion year and the title winning year.

With him you know what your going to get. I'd rather have someone like him in than King who is the antithesis of inconsistent.

He isn't your Pirlo or Scholes, but he can ping an excellent ball over the top for Vardyto create something out of nothing and, as this is pretty much how we play, makes him much more valuable to us than someone of equal ability as otherwise we have to change and adjust our style

He is bang out of form and for too long now. He needs to start the season well to give him some confidence.

Said this before, but he alternates between disappointing season and excellent season. Expect him to be player of the season this time around.

The one concern I have about Drinkwater is that he now seems to want to be far too instrumental in our build up and get as many touches on the ball as he can. He has started to come too deep and pick the ball up off the defenders' toes and slows things down, and that gives the opposition time to set up, which doesn't suit our style of play. Maybe it comes down to the fact that he has had to adapt due to the loss of Kante and has yet to have a full season alongside Ndidi to work out the best way to play.

We certainly can't afford to let him go, as the final performances of last season demonstrated. Without him there was no drive forwards in midfield, and no player covers as much ground or puts in more effort.

Seeing how Maguire operates, Drinky won't be dropping so deep this year or else he'll be behind him!

Off topic, im getting a bit of a Sol Bamba flashback about Maguire, in a good way.

With Iborra, Ndidi and James, Drinky may fancy his chances of getting in the Chelsea team higher. Hope he doesn't go as we now have good strength in this area when you also throw in King.
