    So, Sunday afternoon at 16.30 is Carrick day No.2.

    I wonder if he will start with the same caution he did v Villareal before bringing on our better players?

    Personally, this is a no from me. We should definitely start with the best possible eleven.

    My team would be;

    ........................................................de Gea....................................................

    AWB.............................Bailly.......................... Lindelof .......................................Telles

    ..................DVDB........................ Fred..................................Fernandes

    Sancho.....................................................................................................Rashford

    ........................................................Ronaldo

    I thought we passed the ball better against Villareal than previously which was encouraging but it was slow - like the players were doing it for the first time.

    Against Chelsea I think we won't have that time. So it's going to end up with us losing possession and backs against the wall. Can't see them not scoring. Not expecting much out the game.

    We can defend every now and then, we are usually good for a goal too.
    If we are on a defending day i would probably be very happy with 0-1 or 1-1, if we are off it i can easily see a 4-1 being the outcome.

    I think we’ll do well to get a point out of this despite decent recent results against Chelsea. :(

    We’ll see whether Carrick’s got any nous . Sitting back for a 0-0 would be useless because we can’t keep a clean sheet for toffee. Attacking them with gay abandon is inviting their full backs to cut through our midfield like knife through butter. Can he prevent the usual collapse once we concede? Once the RS and City scored we simply gave up and heads went down as if we had no chance. When we concede the first goal I want these players to keep ****ing playing. Show you’ve got some ****ing professional pride FFS!

    You do know that we have come back from conceding first more than any other team in the division ?

    Not lately though.

    This game may surprise us. If we stay organized, we can be positive about the outcome.

    Well obviously and this is what most people have been saying (including Ole), you can't keep going behind and expect to win.
    I was just countering your implication that the team had the wrong mentality to fight back.

    Yeah, I guess that going behind so frequently was a terrible habit that no team should ever get used to but we formed a bad habit out of it. We got used to it then our form went to sht which compounded our struggles. I believe that a fully fit Varane in the team could have mitigated some of those disastrous results.

    <laugh>

    He's only got two forwards in Sancho and Rashford in the line up.

    We aint getting out of our half for 90 mins folks <ok>

    With no out ball and 3 defensive midfielders we are going to be pinned back by Chelsea.

    Well, at least we now know Carrick was very much at the heart of the tripe Ole served up.

    The most defensive set up I’ve seen for a while. And ronaldo out means Carrick is already thinking Rangnick style as CR cannot be relied to run back.

    I fear another drubbing once they score the first goal and we open up,

    But not lately and not against the very top teams. May be it wasn’t mentality but errors or panic defending? The second we conceded against the RS and City were completely avoidable.

    You have a player like Ronaldo in your team and you don’t play him. I really can’t understand the logic. Christian, did you serve Carrick a bit of your logic juice? :D

    There’s no one taking the central forward position. Are we down to ten men?

    Wow. This is the dumbest lineup I’ve seen.

    I’m a game like this, this is exactly where you need Ronaldo because you’re not going to get much chances. And when you do get a chance, who would you want at the end of it?

    Chelsea defenders must have laughed when they learned Ronaldo won’t start.

    That was a classic example. Perfect back forward and it feel to Sancho. That is where Ronaldo should be.

    If Carrick had some of my logic juice we’d be in much better place ;)
