v please log in to view this image The third in my run of match threads, and the one I am least optimistic about, despite Chelsea's lack of forwards that was evident in their last game where they struggled against Norwich. After our latest game, the thrilling encounter with Burnley (how often can that be said?) we will probably go up there and trounce them. Here's hoping. Me personally, I will not be awake for this one, 3.45 am kick-off over here and at my age, I need my sleep.
And the good news is:- Chelsea v Southampton (19:45) REFEREE:- KEVIN FRIEND ASSISTANTS:- Adrian Holmes and Simon Beck Fourth Official : Graham Scott. No mention of VAR!
I haven't seen this mentioned before, but will JWP be eligible to play in this? My understanding is that his three match ban is for PL games, so he could be available. The flip side to this is would Ralph be willing to put JWP out there? I think he probably would, but what do I know?
This may be good news for our next league game v Watford. But will Prowsie be able to force his way back into the team?
I don’t believe he should walk straight back in, he has been the worse of those 3 players this year, and should earn his way back. It was also a really stupid tackle that wasn’t necessary, and we lost the game from that moment he went.
Bit worrying they only got 7, hopefully their appetite for 9 is for PL games only. Otherwise they have 2 goals in their tank, but logically, our most recent scoring record Leeds 1, Burnley 2 so 3 comes next!! We can do this!!
I assume you all saw that after Werner and Lukaku got injured last week, Chelsea fans were expecting Broja to be recalled until someone pointed out that it can't happen before the January window (and only then with both clubs agreeing). I know Broja can't play Tuesday but at least we won't be facing him. That would have been weird. They will get an other chance to see the other one that got away. I'm sure he'll be itching to play Tuesday.
Dear Chelsea, we won't turn up on Tuesday, if you agree to let us have Broja for another season next summer when you buy Haaland or whoever for 150m. Yours sincerely, Southampton FC
FYI if you're going tomorrow, Chelsea require proof of a negative test or double vaccination, so leave a bit of time to get in.
Just done my test. Be interesting to see how they manage to check everyone's status. Could be more of that ij the future. See, that aspect (a negative test OR double vaccinated), I have no problems with!
