Not sure about current injuries, but boy we need a big step up over Arsenal debacle.
    Mendy
    Dave Zouma Rudiger Chilwell
    Kante
    Mount Gilmour
    Pulisic Giroud CHO

Subs Kovacic, Kepa ,Emerson, Christensen, Anjorin , Werner, Havertz

Longer term, Werner needs a break and then a run in the middle next game. So maybe 30 mins 2nd half?
Havertz ditto, sub for this one.
Abraham sit in the stands and watch what proper strikers do.
Jorginho, a stroll down Kings Road and watch from a pub.
Reece James, a rest and/or sort out injury.
Frank. Read the riot act and be much, much better with your subs. Insist that we stop faffing around at the back and RUN, RUN RUN straight towards goal. Draw defenders in and get the wingers in behind. Taking 37 passes and jogging to get into the box is NOT going to cut it.

My tip > Chelsea 1 Aston Villa 2
We can't score, can't control midfield, miles too slow.

    Werner is wasted under Frank.

You bring him on, play him through the middle (where he should be playing) then continue to persist with endless crosses from out wide for the rest of the game <doh>

disagree imo he is no CF & is best playing from the left but as a left forward not a winger .

He can play either, but whichever you prefer, he's not the person to swing crosses into expecting him to score. He relies on pace and feeds off through balls from the am or cm.

well rhats why he shouldn't be playing CF <laugh>
anyway he should learn as whipping balls in for Mane & Salah at the back post works fine for us .

Eh? So someone whose game isn't predominantly about getting his head on the end of crosses shouldn't play as a centre forward or left forward? **** we better retire Rashford now... of course you'd like that <laugh>

crosses don't need to be high you know and being quick allows you to get on end of driven crosses .
PS when Chelsea Pensioner logs on from Oz he is going to be ever so confused .

I was beginning to think, what do we care <laugh> long may it continue.

Chelsea have some quality signings and even though I thought at the start they'd struggle defensively, I'm surprised how poor they've been at scoring/converting chances.

personally thought they bought too many and you end up shoehorning players into the team to the detriment of the whole . I thought the Havertz signing was odd as while he is obviously a step up on Mount ( well we all expect him to be in time ) was it woth packing in another attacker and at such cost when you already had at least 7 others.

Yeh and then to play them both in games doesn't help either. Havertz must be on the pitch wondering, well what do you want me to do with Mount there?

Not confused just nonplussed. Firstly with our major problem being the same for 4 years now, and that's we are yet to sort out midfield. We have possibly the best DM in Kante, a terrific player in Mount and our 3rd is Kovacic, tough and aggressive but just not a scoring player, or Jorginho who is just hopeless. Havertz is not a player of great talent who can and will prove to be exceptional given time. With Ziyech, Pulisic, CHO, Loftus Cheek and Gilmour all suffering long term injuries, it hasn't been the easiest time for Frank to shape the team as he wants. Liverpool were sideline watchers for 10 years and took 3 full seasons under Klopp before they got their act together, after they spent Mil £476 on players. Utd have been a basket case for years as well but look to be on the way up. Remember Lampard himself and Drogba were hopeless their first year at Chelsea, and that eventually went well.

You guys talk like you are on TV, spouting diatribe just like the pundits, If you knew the real game and how it actually worked you would be in it. That is a fullstop, by the way. Unfortunately the game I loved has moved on and only available in local areas, but is far more enjoyable than the wrongly judged purified tripe that is at the table today. When a player can openly say on TV and I quote. "I felt a touch so went down". and it is tolerated, then the game is not Football.

What has that got to do with this thread?

If you don't like people talking about football I suggest a football forum isn't the place for you.

You have a lot of midfielders to choose from. You've said a lot about the players, but nothing about how to get the best out of them.
