Recent results will make sure that Chelsea will be fighting harder not to lose again this week-end. We need to get off to a strong start and get the home crowd on their teams backs. It could go either way. Last season on 15th March 2015 it was a 1 - 1 Draw with Dusan Tadic scoring the equaliser from the Penalty Spot, in reply to the Costa opener in front of a 41,624 crowd. Costa will be absent for this game. The last 5 games at Stamford Bridge have seen 3 wins to Chelsea and 2 Draws. Chelsea are still without GK Thibaut Courtois with a serious knee injury.
Be interesting to see what team they put out for this. I reckon Zouma will play as Terry struggled with Mane last year. Really can't call this one, depends on which Chelsea turns up I suppose. Think we can definitely get something if we play well though.
Never ever been a better time to play Mourinho's Chelsea. If we score first their fans will get on their back and I think we'll win
Going up to London for this one with a girl who's a Chelsea fan, so I'm in the home end. For some reason I can see Chelsea turning up and beating us quite convincingly, hopefully I can pass crying off as tears of joy.
This will be an interesting game, we are just starting to gel and Chelsea really are struggling at the moment, is it wrong of me to expect at least a draw out of this one.
I've not seen a full Chelsea game this season, but they're clearly struggling compared to last season and the problems are defensive. To go from best defense to an average of conceding two goals a game is quite a change. Although they will be dangerous at the other end, I hope we don't afford them too much respect. If we can attack with pace and purpose we should get goals.
No pressure on us its all on them. Despite their struggles no-one will really expect anything other than a home win.
Fascinating game, no pressure on us as we would always expect to lose at Stamford bridge. Looking forward to seeing if we can build on the last few games. Not fussed about what happens, I would just like us to play well!
Hey Chilco, on the Team For Chelsea thread, your closing remark makes me seem like a certain Manure Poster! i.e. "I'll close this thread as we have the math thread up and running". Me, I never use a spell chicker
The problem with coming up against one of the big teams, when they are on a bad run, is that they have so many match winners who can win games, or change momentum by one flash of brilliance. Let's hope this weekend isn't the time it happens.
i think chelsea will come out all guns blazing for this - they will be livid at the moment. But If we can weather the storm in the first 30 mins we could sneak a result here I reckon.
This will be my stance if we lose. Until then, I'll take a **** performance and a one nil win all day long, please.
Just saw an article on MSN Sport which indicates that Falcao may play instead of Remy. Could be interesting ......... another one for Virgil to keep in his pocket?
It will be interesting to see how the new(ish) defense holds out as we are definitely stronger for having Virgil. But there were creaking sounds to be heard when Swansea actually started attacking us in the last 20mins on Saturday. A good time to play them, but expecting at least a draw might be a tad optimistic.
Well we know a lot more about Chelsea now, don't we.? Not sure we know a lot more about Southampton FC.
