It'll be interesting to see if they can stop her from bleeding and see if they can get her to run a set of consistent races.
Laurina has had a breathing operation apparently. Nicholls has said this is often successful in reducing bleeding problems. Fascinating to see how she goes and whether Nicholls can get her back..
I don’t bet online any more so my ante post bets are phoned through to my dad who pops down to the local Ladbrokes to put them on for me. Had a tenner e/w On Duffle Coat at 33/1 for the Triumph. Tight bastards wouldn’t give him 50s.......
I see Saint Roi is only 8s now. I am going to add RSA Envoi Allen 8/1 in case he doesn't go for the Arkle. If he goes for the Novice, I'll "back" him on the day So my current "tickets' are: Arkle - Shishkin 5/1and Envoi Allen 14/1 Champion Hurdle - Goshen 6/1, Concertista ew at 25/1 and Saint Roi ew 33/1 Mares - Honeysuckle 4/1 Gold Cup - Santini 8/1 and Al Boum Photo 6/1 RSA - Envoi Allen 8/1
So far, Supreme - Uhtred 40/1 e/w (Not put here until today) Stayers Hurdle - Thyme Hill 14/1 e/w (Not put here until today) Arkle Chase - Captain Guiness 20/1 e/w (Maybe I'll make another bet again 25/1 e/w because it seems that his injury is minor and he will run again in December) Ballymore - Ballyadam 16/1 e/w Gold Cup - Minella Indo 14/1 e/w Mares Chase - Elimay 10/1 win only (entered on Thursday at Clonmel) Triumph - Quilixios 25/1 e/w (Now fav 9-14) RSA - Commander of Fleet 33/1 e/w Ryanair - Imperial Aura 25/1 e/w (now 10-16 after his victory on Sunday) NH Chase - Run Wild Fred 20/1 e/w Champion Hurdle - Saldier 25/1 e/w Champion Bumper - Hollow Games 33/1 e/w (entered on Tuesday at Fairyhouse) Only two more early bets in Mares Novice Hurdle (already chosen) and Foxhunters Chase. Maybe also in the Albert Bartlett but this one is doubtful. In the case of Foxhunters if Caryto Des Brosses recovered from his injury and ran again he would be the chosen one, I think that this year if he had run he would have won the race easily. Unfortunately there is no news of him and in this case "no news, bad news". I have a horse in mind already if Caryto doesn't show up but I don't know if he will qualify. No bets on the Festival at Mares Hurdle, Champion Chase, Cross Country and Marsh unless in one of these races something calls my attention to very high odds. In Handicaps nothing until one or two weeks before the Festival.
I will add the above to the spreadsheet I am collating on Cheltenham ante post tips. For all the other not606 posters out there who haven't yet listed their ante post bets , please post them for inclusion. Edit: Spreadsheet now up to date..
Duffle Coat entered for the Grade 2 Triumph Hurdle Trial at Cheltenham on Saturday with Overpriced Mixer amongst the potential opponents. Duffle Coat giving the field 5lbs so all to do.
Good spot and he is 9/4 for that race - massive price, I was very impressed with his debut. Any news of Fergal’s pair in the race?
Naizagai was well thought of but last run was horrid. Not seen the other horse but on pedigree it doesn’t look a stayer to me.
One ante post bet for me, which is pretty speculative is La Bague au Roi 33/1 each way in the Mares Chase in the unlikely event that she signs off her career in style in this race at the Festival. Gives me some interest as I am tracking ante post bets through a spreadsheet.
Duffle Coat priced up at 9/4 for the Triumph Trial on Saturday with Hell Red evs fav. I can't help thinking they've got that all wrong - Duffle Coat already a listed hurdle winner and Hell Red just the 1 victory at Chepstow where the form does not look at all strong (Billy The Squid a very exposed 107 in third place). I fancy my lad to give the weight to the field and take this.
I think you are right mate. That said, I've just placed a min stakes ew at 44-1 on Jersey Grey, based on Alex Dunne's enthusiasm over this fellow yesterday
Hell Red will end up about 8/13 id imagine, has a bit of a reputation I think, very pronounced knee action which im not too keen on but slick jumper and might just have too much speed for this lot. Ive backed Adagio at 7s in a race thin on quality, he won the same race as Allmankind who won this last year, made a mess of the last 2 but travelled and jumped well before that and value for more than the winning margin against a 78 rated flat horse of Alan Kings, still quite unexposed but im not exactly confident, just felt the price was a few points too big with the lack of serious contenders in the race.
I think Elliot is making a mistake trying to make Envoi Allen a Gold Cup horse, hes doing the opposite of what he did with Samcro. The Marsh chase is a complete non event and Envoi Allen should 100% be going for the Champion Hurdle this season.
