Sounds good holiday or work? Got any pictures you can put up? I'd be interested in what its like there... Always good to see real places around the world
I lived here for a few months at a time over the last few years so it's like my second home I have a big family out here so I'm not doing the touristy **** just living like Chinese people. Hong Kong is more expensive but you don't need a Visa . You have Macau too a quick ferry ride away if you like gambling. A 2 year tourist Visa costs about £150 and it's a headache applying for it . Hong Kong you just book a flight and go with a British passport. £600 flight tops it's amazing to be fair
Eat out nearly every day this week I have eaten. Snails, duck eggs , frogs, eels, crawfish, lotus root, birds nest soup , goat and all manner of vegetables and seafood that I have never seen before . Most of it spicy as **** . These are really good I think they are languistine
How do the locals treat you mate? When I used to go to Shanghai with my ex, it was like a special visit, all airs and graces..
My half Chinese 3 year old speaks Chinese and has curly hair, people always approach me and my Mrs all the time commenting about how cute she is. They are a pretty shy people and extremely nice . Schoolchildren sometimes like to practice their English by chatting with us and the old people tend to just stare at me . Lovely warm people going by my own experiences. I just feel a bit guilty that I can't speak much Mandarin, my daughter teaches me the basics .
It's like everything, learning the lingo and the culture will take time but you sound like you have a good family unit there and the strength of love conquerors all. I really like the Chinese people and always felt safe in their Country, their acceptance is a 2-way street and I always showed them nothing but respect. Have a great break mate, your wife must be on top of the world visiting home again..
You have got to be the nicest poster on this forum. All the best to you and your wonderful girls too buddy .
I just live in a world of reality mate, I admire lads like you and @JakartaToon for your dedication in the choices you have made in life.. As I said earlier.. 好好享受
Only ever visited for shopping from Hong Kong but was shocked by how organised everything was. Great public transport and all the big cities with Metro systems. Tried to go back for a longer holiday to Beijing and Shanghai but the bastards rejected my visa application!
I didn't like this post because I'm glad your Visa was rejected you are a cool guy. I'm still banned from the Toon board though which is kinda ironic considering.
Looking at them I'm not sure where to start Sounds a cool place and it must be nice with your family. I hope you have a great time
