Thinking about it, what i could do is also go early the morning for an hour on one of my overnights.

    That makes three visits.

I wont do it though because i'm ****ing useless and have to have a tea when I wake up.

Big hot rolled stuff not been so bad, or reinforcement. Bit of a lead in but can get it, we've got good supply chain for this.

It's cold rolled and cladding and **** that's been an issue.

So, need a knee operation so any outdoor running is curtailed for now. Need to reduce impact on the ****er.

Also need to to lose weight to help with that, any little helps, so will look into calorie reduction. Apart from the half dozen beers I'll cane watching England tonight of course.

Joined a Gym yesterday. JD Gym, looks a belter as it goes, and only £19.99 a month. Thought it would be crap but had a look round yesterday and it's anything but.

Going tonight for a pre match debut, can't wait. Will also test the knee out on some cardio stuff for an end of session warm down but things like squats are definitely out.

Can you get an op ?

My mate was waiting ****ing donkeys for an op during the pandemic. His knees are so ****ed now though that he needs a knee replacement op, which isn't available on the NHS until you're 65.

Do you swim bro ? Probs one of the best things you can do to strengthen without putting extra strain on your joints.

If I need to push it on, I'll go private. Got it with work, never used it.
Will have to see, if they say two years or something I'll consider it.

No pool near where I work so will just use gym, did 90 mins in there and was good to be back.

Didn't try the knee out but will tomorrow or Friday morning. Just getting used to how piss weak I now am!

Could always start sea swimming i suppose?

Sea swimming is good. There's a couple of local groups here that all go together, so I reckon there'd be something similar near you. Prefer to go on my own tbh, but I don't swim when there's a swell running.

Hydrotherapy in general is really good for knackered knees. Have you discuss referral to physio with your GP. There are some super heated hyrdotherapy pools around that could help.

But yeah, long term the op is going to be the one to fix it up. You got worn cartilage ? Common problem for runners on tarmac.

This goes back to when I used to play loads of squash (and cricket and football before that when I was younger) more than road running, the running is only recent really, and I've been pretty ****e at that tbf.
Years of wear and tear, suddenly coming home.

I think first thing will be to have a clean up. Replacement is long way off, hopefully never.

I'd not swim in a group. I don't ****ing do groups!

Feel daft even saying this but, I feel chipper as **** today.

There's no doubt at all that the buzz from spending an hour and a half in the gym, or doing anything, is more than just physical. It's great for the head.

Love the doms too, you know you've worked. Tomorrow will be fun!

Slowly easing myself back into my exercising. I’m the sort of person who likes to do something we every day, but the last 4-5 weeks have been tough managing neck/spine injury, then spraining my ankle and to top it off I put my back out again.

Anyway, having a few sessions with a chiropractor has clunked my spine back into shape. He also happens to be a mountain biker, so I’ve asked him to write me out a prescription for a full suss enduro bike <ok>

I would suggest getting it done asap as if you're not careful you may start changing your gait which can then cause other problems further down the line .

Did half an hour on the treadmill just now after the gym.

Was fine. Plenty cushion on the treadmill and its flat, essentially. None of the bumps and holes I get on trail.

Just need it cleaned out and drained I guess? Any major op is years off I'd hope.

its just anything that is giving definite gyp has the possibility of someone altering their stance / movement to compensate which can lead to other problems further down the road .
