You did mate and very nice it is too. As you say though, waste of money if you're going to add a mixer.
Father in law drinks Woods Old Navy and adds Shrub, which is an alcoholic cordial,makes it sweet though, 2 parts rum to one part shrub.
Turtle Bay serve their rum platters with a still fiery ginger beer, I don't add it to the rum but the ginger beer is lovely.

 

Need a budget one as well though as rum goes in mulled cider.

I probs shouldn't be chucking El Dorado into a mulled cider, right?

Something like Rumbullion, which is a spiced rum should do the trick, about £20 a bottle

Yeah don't do that. Get the El Dorado to sip and The Plantation Original Dark for mixing and it's decent enough straight aswell.

 

Bit sweet though, I'd go the Plantation.

 

I sometimes have a second but you're right and you have to respect the rum or it'll **** you up.

 

Got a bottle of Santa Teresa for myself this year, never tried it but have high hopes.

 

He could do both and do a taste test.

Probably the most memorable one I've seen so far. I knew as soon has I saw the Tesco ad, it would have parents saying noooo, don't tell the kids that! That's what's so funny about it.

That was the first bottle of the good stuff that I tried, it is nice but you can do better for the price.
