Spurs, Norwich and Newcastle the first three clubs to furlough their non-playing employees so the government has to pay them 80% wages instead of the clubs having to fork out for it themselves by asking their multimillionaire players to help out. Any thought other than 'what a bunch of rich selfish ****ers but I bet the club I support myself will be doing it soon too?'
Jesse Lingard should be forced to forfeit his salary for the rest of the season for being a useless dogshit.
Clubs furloughing staff before getting players to agree to either massive cuts or complete payment holidays is ****ing rank. Whichever way you try and spin it, that’s absolutely ****ing awful. Where’s the players coming forwards and suggesting they should take a pay holiday btw? Greedy set of ****s. Football is in danger of alienating its fanbase here, what with this and their barmy plans about some kind of football compound to play the remaining fixtures, which is all about ££££££ and **** all to do with either the ‘integrity’ of the game or the fans who make it all possible. The game looks ugly at the minute, even uglier than normal.
There is a way to hit these football clubs and tv broadcasters right where it hurts, but will the fans stay away and refuse to pay, probably not, but we all live in hope. Some say this virus will help reshape the way we live, getting rid of these greedy fookers would be a great start to proving it.
The continental clubs and their players are sort of confirming that old belief players go there motivated by the football, the ones coming to the PL motivated by the ££££
Even if you don't care about your employees at all, you'd keep paying them just because as a form of PR/advertising it's a very profitable move. It's being done purely out of spite. They actually want people to suffer. It's Tory as ****.
I can’t see how they can only furlough some staff and not the others, and on what basis can they claim....... errr Boris can you pay 80% of our canteen staffs wages as we gotta pay the 100% of our players wages.
Isn't the furlough payment dependent on a business proving it can't pay their employees wages? Surely no PL club is at that stage just yet???
yes it is. i will have a word will colleagues in Policy to make sure these greedy ****s can’t get paid
No. It’s merely a mechanism put in place to stop companies merely laying off staff with no pay, as would have happened during the lockdown.
"We have learnt from our mistake" clearly he meant "we have discovered we are not allowed to keep our stores open, so instead have opted to sack all our staff. Thank you."
but not a mechanism so that you can pay some staff £100k a week and then claim you can’t afford to pay others Minimum Wage
