They were Phelan purchases, bought to bulk out the squad due to the horrendous injury situation we had.

All they actually did was add to our horrendous injury situation. Has Weir ever been fit?

Nope, he'll retire soon, just watch. We've had two retire recently, Dudgeon (although he was released before that), then Mason. Weir is heading the same way.

Possible Notts Forrest transfer to Hull City or Portsmouth
Ryan Yates has featured for Forest just once all season - and could be on the way out of the club.....

Of course. I've not known a club have two professionals retire in two seasons.

Was it the City v Man Utd match. An early outing for the “Grim Reds”?

Those sort of inadequates hadn't been invented back then. Just had a look, the attendance for that game was 46,282. That season saw the largest crowd City had played in front of before the play off final, 66,889 at Tottenham. Other away crowds included 40,254 at Cardiff, 52,403 at Wednesday, 49,465 at Leeds.
We had 50,103 for the Wednesday home game, but crowds yo yoed up and down even back then as the home game before the Wednesday one was 37,895. The only games where the crowd would have fitted in the KC were the QPR one, 24,586 and the Cardiff one, the final game of the season.18,213.9 of the games had crowds of over 40,000.

As I remember, there was **** all else to do back then on a Saturday afternoon. My 6 year old granddaughter asked why were all the films and pictures grey? From the mouths of babes.

Really old ones because colour hadn't been invented and then because colour photos and films were expensive. Though that doesn't stop a lot of the old black and white films being better than a lot of the mindless modern colour ones. Or England's World Cup win which was broadcast in black and white being inferior to recent defeats in glorious colour.
Still **** all to do in Barcelona, Madrid, Berlin, Buenos Aires and elsewhere going by their crowds.
