I won’t be starting a new board Can’t speak for Royston. But I will not be starting a new forum. I have had it with forums. They soon turn toxic. Lots of people being brave sitting behind a keyboard. I have not posted anything that I wouldn’t say to your face. Be happy to meet sometime to discuss it further. In fact I have had it with Charlton. Been going for 62 years and have never felt so disillusioned. Sandgaard and his arrogance has dragged us to some of the worst football I have ever seen. Large amounts of true Charlton Supporters have left in droves, will some of them ever come back? We need a total revamp. Starting with Sandgaard and his Son. Gallen can also go. Our recruiting has been truly awful. The new owner needs to put his hand in his pocket and get us some players that will get us challenging for promotion. We need to strip out all the non performers and players not good enough. Do I think this is going to happen? No I don’t, I can see us stumbling around in this division being a lower to mid table league one team for years to come.
Two or three. I won't be saying who they are, as some folks prefer not to post which is fine. They can remain anonymous observers if they so wish.
Apologies, Elfs it seems was pulling our chains. It did seem a bit unlikely that Royston would want to start a forum. I imagine he's happy enough on tw1tter. As for CAFC, it does seem our second worst fears have been realised. Sandgaard's lawyers did prevent us becoming the next Bury FC. They are now effectively playing out of a mini-bus in the 9th tier so I understand. Bad as things are at the Valley, they aren't as bad as that. But it is true the life seems to have drained out of the Club. If we do slip down into the 4th tier this season or next, it looks as though it will be without even a whimper. And the lower we sink and the more people walk away, the more likely it becomes that we'll be moved out of the Valley in the long run.
One of the things I like about this forum is that it's connected to forums for fans of other Clubs. With the exception of one Palarse knob, those other fans come in peace occasionally and chip in good posts. I know there's only a few of us here compared to 10 years ago, and a lot of the Club forums in the lower EFL tiers are inactive now. But in my view its nice to be reminded we're part of a larger community of football fans. ITTV, for all its good points, is constantly like a circle of wagons with rifles pointing out in all directions. Everyone outside (including most other Charlton fans) seem to be regarded as an enemy. And CL is so large its members can be indifferent to other fans - which is OK, just not the way we are here.
Where do we start? Head wum Bexley saying our superstars are performance affected. The Welsh whale continuing a 'boycott' that has seen 25 stones only once a year for the past 12 seasons, including Covid. The apologists make Elfsborginho laugh.
My mole has informed me that Ivor, again, has said he wants to jack in his forum. Via my chum he's told Ivor I want to take over. I can assure our beloved leader @lardiman that I will ban anybody over there who slags 606 and it's 15.5 membership. I love you all.
He's the administrator, he doesn't have to jack it in. Just pass it over to a moderator to run. Then if he feels like coming back in a few months or a year, he can just resume posting. As the admin he alone has ultimate control and always will have. No other member can ever be given more power than he has. If Reams wants to get more involved with Wrexham and take some time off from ITTV then good luck to him. It would be interesting to see how the forum would fare under a caretaker. If not Elfs (though I can't imagine why not) maybe Valleyfaithful or SR, or WellingAddick. Plenty of candidates - maybe even a small team working together?
Having read this I have asked for my application to be binned. I cannot have the welsh buffoon being my boss.
