The squad state is now such that unless there are injury plagues,
PL strength starting XIs (that are not the strongest on paper) can be
fielded in domestic cup games this season.

Keep them fit, keep them competitive (for CL team sheet berths etc) .

    Confirmed by the club:

Lo Celso has a hip injury and won’t begin training until the end of October.

As Harry was waiting to take that penalty, the commentator suggested Harry was the greatest penalty taker.....you knew he was going to miss, but hoped he wouldn't...…!

If it went in he'd be England's joint-highest scorer of penalties, tying Fat Frank's record of nine

Of course, we remember how rival fans said Lampard could only score penalties and nothing else...

My Mrs talks about work in abbreviations and acronyms. I'm completely ****ing lost and I used to work in the same field a decade ago. I'd be better off if she spoke Finnish or Hungarian to me.

The outfield players are Pace, Dribbling, Shooting, Defence, Passing and Physicality or something very similar.
The keeper is Diving, Reflexes, Handling, Speed, Kicking and Positioning, I think.
The stat at the start is an overall rating and their main position. 89 ST for Kane, for example.

Haven't played FIFA for years, so I'm guessing, but I'm probably not far off.
There are a bunch of other stats too, IIRC. Some are hidden.

Diving. They get marks for that? Who would come out number 1 in the world?

The keepers do. The players can actually dive now too, IIRC. Not sure they get a rating for it, though.

Diving's been in FIFA games since at least FIFA '99...but back then it was just cosmetic, now it's an actual game mechanic

  20. That’s a depressing indictment on the modern game.
