So. Following on from the summer window thread, what does January hold for us?

What have we seen of the team that suggests changes are needed?

A few from the summer window that we're yet to see much of. A few long term injuries that will seem like new signings when they're back.

On the flip side, is there more dead wood left to go?

If we're top 4 come Christmas will Tan splash the cash? Will Warnock want to?

Will changes do more harm than good?

If Tomlin is not going to feature with his GBH trial then there is a lack of creativity and goal threat in that position. A driving central midfielder who can score from open play would be top of my list plus an off the bench goal scorer. City are in top 2 with 4 goals from their strikers in 13 games. Our maulings of Villa & Leeds apart, our points haul has largely been attributable to our defence, the best I believe in the league.

If Kadeem gets fit then Feeney won't stay. May be better options out there anyway.

Taxi for Gonzo is a given and maybe some of our loans out might make their moves permanent, O'Keefe, Declan and Kennedy for example.

Halford????? Will only stay with a bit part role. Will he be happy with that?

No argument about our usual desire for the goal scoring midfielder although Tomlin could still be the man if he remains free after his case his heard on 20/11. Provided he's not weighed down by a curfew tag. I see his co-accused is scoring regularly for Accrington.

Ward needs more opportunities to prove himself as does the guy we signed from Wigan although a regular scorer from the bench is always useful.

However, Colin's teams are always built on a strong foundation from the back so maybe another left footed left back as competition for Bennett might be an addition.

Sooner than that Bluey. The judge postponed the Leicester Crown Court hearing for a fortnight until November 3rd to allow the defence and prosecution more time to discuss the case. I saw the month postponment somewhere as well, but this is from the Court.

"Adjourning the case to November 3, Judge Steven Coupland told the defendants: “Both sides need more time to see where this case is actually going.

“You can have bail on the same terms and conditions as before.”

My feeling is the case will probably be dropped altogether, or the charge mitigated to ABH with a guilty plea and a slapped wrist instead of clink.

    Apparently been training with us.

Nearly joined Birmingham until Harry got sacked.

Been around the block a bit and not been anywhere that long. Born in Switzerland but 16 caps for Venezuela.

But is it a position we need to bulk up? Thought we were well stocked in that department.

Nathan Blake urging NW to sign Mo Diane from Newcastle to get City over the line.

City do need that extra bit of quality in midfield but also a proven goal snatcher at this level.

You' d always take a player better than you'e got or someone with a few more goals in them. Without spending big bucks not sure you' d get that.
An experienced calming influence in midfield maybe. Doesn't have to be first choice but someone who can close a game out.
I wouldn't be unhappy if no one was signed in January. If we'e top four come January I can see tan making a few million available though.
Not sure if Colin would now what to do with it tbh.

I think we do need strengthening. We’ve had some key players out recently and it’s affected our performances. Feeney eg is not a good enough back up.

The decision to bring in Feeney mystified me at the time and I said so - it's baffled me since. He'll never start a game and can't turn one when brought on off the bench.

It's been mentioned that it was Kadeem's injury that prompted Warnock to bring him here until January, but to my mind it's been a shed load of money wasted.

Pilks has dissappointed in the past but he was already at the club and being paid. I'd rather have him on the bench to bring on - at least he has the latent ability to win a game. Instead he's been playing for the Dev squad and not given a chance this season.

Mark Harris is in the same category and Danny Ward can play wide - why did we need Feeney?

With Connolly and 'the knife' on top of our 3 first choice CBs it's not the centre of the park.
And 27 is a bit old for 'one for the future'.
