Nerves are jangling now - it's going to be a long day, and hopefully a happy night, but don't underestimate Denmark - I read somewhere they are higher ranked than Germany, and nobody rolls over in a semi final.

Are England really the real deal?
Or are we vulnerable to a sucker punch.

Germany had nothing in their locker.
But we gave Ukraine some chances they should never have had.
Pure luck, that they didn't take at least one.

The 'sucker punch' question still remains to be answered in my view.
Everyone in the media is sounding just a bit too confident.
We'll know in about 11 hours...

Utterly drained but the best team won. I thought we ran them flat in the last ten minutes. I never thought it would be easy, and thats how it went, but we gradually pushed them back.
So for the first time in 55 years we're in a final. Italy are good. But so are we - thats how we got tyere. And Kane has transformed into a giant. Come on Engerland!!

Should never have been a penalty, but we did deserve the win.

Both semi's have been excellent games. Lets hope the final is as good.

Huge credit to Southgate and the team for getting all the way to the Final.
I did not think they would.
There'll be no shame if Italy prove too difficult for them to beat.

I'd guess the Final is going to be tactical and tight, not entertaining.
Particularly if Italy sense that they can't control the game.
They'll then go into 'Penalties' mode and play out the 120 minutes without taking chances, and using every trick in the book to disrupt and delay.

I hate that booing the national anthem stuff. It's petty classless behavioyr that makes us look small and paranoid. We're hardly the only culprits though. According to someone, the Itslians booed the Spanish national anthem from start to finish. And bizarrely, the Spanish sports paper Marca, was encouraging the Spanish to support Italy on sunday because Rashford dived, and the referee favoured England, and we booed the Danish anthem. Weird people.

They haven't been able to locate the laser-lout. Lucky Schmeichel was facing forward, and so wasn't affected. Anyone remember the same thing happening at a World Cup game during a corner, and the goalie conceded a goal because of it? Can't remember who was playing.

Today's the day, guys and gals. I've watched Enland in pubs and bars around the world, but tonight I'll be at home as I was for both Germany and Denmark - there are no places for the Englush to gathee, as we are few and far between thanks to covid. Gonna be a tough old match, but we have talent enough to win.
Come on England - ir's our turn.

I see the Scottish papers are backing Italy <laugh>

I was minded to sing a few verses of "Two World Wars and One World Cup..."
But Italy (like Japan) were on our side in WW1 <peacedove>

That front page showing Mancini as Braveheart was stupid, and there was quite a reaction against it, they've changed their tone now. England are very good, but it's not their fault that Scotland are poor.

If Trippier is replacing Saka I imagine Southgate's plan is to win the game in the last 20 minutes.

Yes, let's drop our most exciting, creative players and go ultra-cautious. That always works <doh>

Having said that' I've queried Southgate's tactics a couple of times and been wrong.

In Gareth we trust (now). I criticised Trippier for Saka as well…perhaps Gareth really does know better than us after all
