So its the internal scaring where the muscles and stuff got cut. Sounds horrendous. Can they muscles not "stretch over time no?
Nope, but they will reduce the movement if you do not do the physio on a regular basis. On this X-ray you can see the plates.
you do the exercises to keep the muscles tendons etc flexible and "stretched" otherwise they tighten up therefore restricting the range of movement .
quite seriously not really - just needs some application to keep doing the exercises and therefore the movement . The really tough stuff is degenerative stuff you can do nothing about for example Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy .
yep i knew a guy who had it as did his older brother so when his brother died he got a very good idea of how long he had left this will sound brutal without the context but it fell to me to tell him to stop moping around and get his **** together .
You should get some anyway for fun! . Ask them to attach your big toe to your hand! Bet you're relieved now. Think you should celebrate with a drink.
Ah, that's going to be horrible, especially in the cold. My plates are on my forearm (both bones), not near the joints but they've restricted movement (lost 20-25%) and are irritating as **** in cold weather. The back of my thumb is constantly partially numb too but that's something to do with nerve damage; not sure if caused by the plates or not. Physio didn't help me but hopefully it'll be different and help your other half, fingers crossed.
