    I guess I don't totally hate it. But I'm hardly excited about it, either. Would have rather gone the extra money on Maddison. Especially if we are going to sell Tadic.

    I dunno. The price is definitely good. This just seems like the kind of semi-safe move a club primarily aiming just to stay up would make. Of course, we might still have a big move in us that I don't know about so that's why I'm not hating it. If so, then this could end up being quite a good move. But if this is our big summer attacking signing I'll be rather irate.

    I think so. Same style of game. More of an old-school attacking-oriented midfielder than a modern day creative full-on attacking mid. Which actually works for us because we will probably need the support/defensive aspects. A Steven Davis who can score a bit is a pretty good thing. Still would need a real, flair-and-speed type of player though.

    The other thing is, JWP is the same type of player so this gives us depth at #10 but still no real wingers. Unless you count Redmond, which I'm not sure if we really want to count Redmond.

    Not *too* worried about that, personally. Relationships end badly. If he were playing well and totally happy at Celtic, why would they sell him? If he were playing poorly, why would we want him? So basically, most of your dealings are with players who intentionally or unintentionally through lack or morale made themselves expendable. We know he only signed a two year extension so he was looking to leave. Plus I mean, the guy did have a hernia and I think that probably impacted his play.

    I mean, I actually hope he was sulking a bit last season. Because the alternative would be that he's just not that good (anymore). I'm worried about that.

    He doesn't seem to have a habitual attitude problem over his career. As long as there was a sustained time where the player played well when they were into it-- and in this case there is-- then it's then just up to Saints to get them excited and at their best.
