If we had a choice of a manager with little experience in managing as No 1 and also a defender with a defender's mindset, I'd much rather Rangel or a swan that remembers how we should and used to play over Terry! Even Tate reluctantly should be considered ?
Of the two, I’d guess that Morris would accept if offered - don’t think JT would accept without substantial transfer funds being made available and the Yanks wouldn’t agree to that would they?
It's a slow death with these Yanky spivs, not optimistic for this season, think we will struggle for goals, and unless we greatly improve passing and possession stats, going to be a long hard season, we were sold a huge deceit from Jenkins & Morgan that they were 'Investors', the investment is coming from player sales season after season, that much is obvious, and you cannot build a team with this type of business plan, it's simply a downward spiral, as we are experiencing of course, this has a knock-on effect in the squad as well, do we still have academy one status? I see comments regarding this on other forums which says no, if we don't then they are undermining the very system that's producing players, truly staggering bad managment of the club.
Even once the club becomes financially stable then there still won't be any cash for investment in players. Unfortunately that's how football is, the ludicrous player wages make it unsustainable for most clubs to compete. As much as I dislike the Yanks I don't blame them for this... it's solely down to Jenkins & chums. We were in a fabulous position, of stability and the model for how a community club should be run. Or so we thought.
They could end up selling the club to the trust in a few years for a quid ? Hopefully it doesn't come to that and they pull a master stroke instead !
The reality is, at the moment, the Yanks have a ‘paper loss’. If they sell, that loss becomes crystallised - a real loss. Given the probable magnitude of the potential loss, they would not sell. Rather hope to get the club self-financing and hope that we strike it lucky one season and get promoted back to the PL. The reality is, we are more likely to move in the other direction …..
Myself i'd like to think we may have fallen lucky with Eustace not taking the job, he knew the terms and conditions so maybe he didn't trust his own ability rather than what was offered by the Board .
