Why do they think everything has to be managed by simple slogans?

Arrogance. Because they think we are all simpletons, and as they are alumni of Oxbridge they think that 3 word slogans are as much as our pathetic little minds can comprehend.

Went to the Saltgrass last night for a few beers and it was fine, shown to the table and people were being responsible.

Wandered to town after for a taxi and it was a completely different story. Nobody was even trying to social distance. Large groups waiting to get in pubs which looked pretty busy. Only a matter of time before we see the pubs closed again because people just aren’t bothered.

    Sad but true mate.

Some people just can't be arsed to save their own lives ...

... I suppose it shows how little they value them.

I'm not far of 60, not sure what to make of the recent ramblings coming out of Number 10.

Millions of over 50s could be told to stay at home to avoid a blanket second lockdown ...

The PM is thought to have held a 'war game' session with Chancellor Rishi Sunak on Wednesday to run through possible options for averting another nationwide lockdown that could put the brakes on a potential economic recovery.

Under the proposals, a greater number of people would be asked to take part in the shielding programme, based on their age or particular risk factors that have been identified since March, said the Telegraph.

It could even see those aged between 50 and 70 given 'personalised risk ratings', said the Times.

It's all rather depressing methinks... Our Government from the start of this crisis have mismanaged and given mixed messages throughout. It's a complete chaotic ****show.

Closing Pubs to allow schools to open is another argument that's been suggested. To help tackle the recent rise of Covid infections in England and support children getting back into school next month.

Given that the retirement age is currently 66, will us over 50's be compensated for staying off work?

They are just showing time and time again that they haven’t a clue what they are doing.

People in their 50’s are in, I’d say, a vital working age, there’s very little to select they are massively at risk either.

Closing bars to open schools is absolutely ludicrous as well, the cross section of people with school age kids v regular pub drinkers wouldn’t be big at all, but the damage to the hospitality industry would be absolutely enormous.

I said a month ago that we’d see what happens when we restarted international travel, but transpired that the places where it is browning again in the UK is more of the result living and working conditions, yet the hapless government continues to encourage people back into office working. It’s mind blowing how inept they are and have been.

We had multiple countries on the quarantine list last week that had zero death, Spain’s was single digits. They seem to be just taking wild and invalid punts to make it look like they are doing something, anything.

You can’t run a house without leadership, yet here we are ignoring that fact for the country. These people are so far beyond inadequate it’s staggering.

I’ve pals coming back into the country saying barely any checks in place, so you can go China>Greece>UK completely undetected for example.

There’s folk bouncing from the US to Europe as there’s no ****ing responsibility.

So, in Manchester you can be sacked for refusing to go and sit with someone in an office, fined £100 for sitting with them at home and given a money-off deal to encourage you to sit with them in a busy restaurant ....

I, for one, applaud this government initiative ...

... it enables people to recover the cost of their fine, eat loads of cheap food and become obese therefore qualifying for government assistance to lose the weight.

It's a brilliantly devised scheme from Boris and the lads <laugh>

As much as I agree with it being arrogance they aren't wrong. They won a landslide majority with many of the working class voting for them in droves because of two slogans 'get BREXIT done' (which isn't done yet but people think we've left) and 'Oven ready deal' (which collapsed after a fortnight as we head stone wall into a hard BREXIT with most people oblivious) <doh>
