    Tom Cruise, action hero <laugh>
Has run away from Italy because he doesn't want to catch the flu.

On a more annoying note, I think there is a fair chance this season may not finish on time (or possibly at all) because of the increasing likelihood of matches being postponed due to the Zombie Apocalypse.

I'd also advise people to get their supermarket shopping in early (as soon as the store opens) and watch out for check-out staff who are coughing and sneezing all over those same hands they then use to scan your tinned peas.

This is good advice at any time though, not just now.

Covid 19 is a good excuse to get two weeks off work... phone up work and say... "I had a Chinese last night and now feel like I have the flu, do you want me to come in or should I say at home for two weeks?"... I can almost guarantee you will have two weeks sick leave <ok>

I know some people won't eat a Chinese takeaway any more, and I was in a music shop which has stopped importing anything made in China. I've stopped eating pangolin and bat soup.

Looks like Tenerife is going to take a hit with their tourist trade … I can see some cheap holidays coming along!

If I get one of my periodic sneezing attacks, which usually last 2/3 minutes, it should clear a nice space.

Because of my pre-existing medical conditions, Corona is likely to finish me off if I catch it.

Extinction Rebellion twats take note - Nature is more than capable of looking after herself.

We've taken a huge hit here. One of our principal markets is Italian students visiting Spain, and now is high season. The result is that the Italians have cancelled en masse, right in the middle of the high season, and now bizarrely want their deposits returned despite being well inside the point where cancellation fees are 100%. Lay offs began today. Worryingly, I can see this stopping all travel in the coming months.
I was chatting with a hotel ownerthis morning who said themortality rate for Coronavirus is below that of common flu, though I don't know how true that is.

@ForestHillBilly , if you are reduced to eating pangolin soup and bats, Coronavirus might make a welcome change.

Corona Virus is less lethal than normal seasonal Flu.

The only drawback (and it's a big one) is that no vaccine exists for Corona.
So no elderly or vulnerable folk can be given any jabs against it, as happens each year with seasonal Flu.

The other worry is that Corona might mutate into something more deadly. Sounds a bit sci-fi, but not impossible apparently.
It is actually more probable however that if it mutates at all, Corona will become less harmful, not more so.

I read a great book once by Frank Herbert (Dune creator).
It was called 'The White Plague'
Set in the present day, it was about a scientist who engineered a 100% lethal virus that only kills women - as revenge for the loss of his wife & child in a terrorist bombing. He wanted the terrorists to feel the pain he was feeling, when they lost their wives and loved ones.

My daughter's boss has just returned from Venice and is now in the office. She's such a tyrant nobody will tell her she should stay at home.

An unknown number of British people who are at risk of carrying the virus are not self-isolating because they are self-employed and cannot afford to lose 2 weeks wages.

Be more effective if you wet your brow.

Maybe, but a sweat on accompanied by a tight cough will be far more effective.

At least Boris is building 40 brand new hospitals, so we should be OK. He said it again at PMQ's today.

I'm more of a Modelo individual. Coronas suck! Pacifico is also a good alternative.

I am actually sitting in bed, ill. Not flu related though.

And a rather needy Shih Tzu. Hate that bloody dog, but a case of tonsillitis. Today first day I've been able to drink without pain, and hear again.

Out of the lot I'm the most low maintenance.
