Summer is when we'll be hitting our peak though. And I imagine they wouldn't want to go beyond the last day of June. That leaves just May and June to get it all done, assuming we're ready to go by May. Not gonna happen imo.
I have memories of Bournemouth to Brighton on scooters over that holiday during the 60s. please log in to view this image
He won't be able to play for Liverpool in July as he won't be contacted, and therefore registered. -------- My Villa mate has been on about Grealish not being their player by then either. Needless to say he wants this null and void right now.
The possible options/endings range from the realistic to the unrealistic to the unthinkable. But in my view, the one thing the PL absolutely cannot do is to decide to straight out relegate the current bottom three clubs. Treating the season as finished, with the clubs all in their present position, would be one thing - but it doesn't mean that the bottom three have to then be relegated. The PL could reprieve them. And it's important that all the clubs support that. Particularly those of us who would otherwise benefit from such an action. Relegated clubs don't always make it back. Indeed, it can very much be the opposite. Big financial compensation pay-outs to Bmouth, Villa and Norwich (whether by choice of the PL, or as a result of being awarded from the inevitable legal battles which would follow) wouldn't cut it.
Agreed, the bottom 3 being relegated is a complete non starter in my view, even more so seeing as Villa have played a game less. But you also can't give Liverpool the title without doing any promotion into the leagues. More I think about it the more I can just see it being nulled.
I think that the outcome of the league should be decided by table football. If the playing surface/table could be divided with a perspex screen, there would be no need to worry about the 'at least 2 metres' requirement. Each club could provide their best table football player (singles, not doubles), and SKY could follow the fixtures, with unnecessary comments from overpaid pundits. There would be no offsides, the back four would always be in a line across the pitch, and the only fouls would be 'spinning'. Where's the downside?
The safest way to do it: each team puts up their best FIFA player, who will compete for their team in all the remaining fixtures. Luke Shaw's day has finally come.
Why did it take 8 minutes in the first place? Anyone with a set of ears could tell it was an old joke, it didn't need someone up north to make the decision. Trouble is, during that 8 minutes I was already well into another corny joke before Norvern Saint dealt me the red. It's a ****ing shambles. This wouldn't have happend to one of the Liverpool or Manchester jokers.
I get the impression that most on here are quite excited about all the terrible scenarios that may happen. It's leaving a bad taste in my mouth.
Yeah, how dare people try and stay positive in a **** situation. I doubt anyone is exciting, just trying to keep spirits up.
There's no doubt the coronavirus situation is very serious for everyone, I don't think anyone is suggesting otherwise. But the scenarios you mention are all football related, and this is after all a football forum. What the effect the postponements will have on the league is a reasonable discussion I think.
Exactly, you have to laugh in adversity to avoid adversity laughing at you. * Don't google who said that as I just made it up ** Though no doubt someone has said that or something similar and it was in may subconscious.
