Cheers guys ! Positive attacking performance with some cracking goals Nice to see Sarr score and what a hit from Peneranda! Jaamaat very good at right back the rest looked pretty comfortable albeit against a limited attack . Excellent vocal support from the Coventry fans .
Professional performance. Three "pick that out" strikes. Folquier played behind Sarr and was the only other native French speaker on our team. Out of position to instruct Sarr perhaps? Janmaat must play Saturday. Quina ought to get game time on that evidence. More confident going into Saturday than I was.
Does anybody know why there were thousands in queues outside at kick off last night.? Luckily our tickets worked ok. I thought our ground looked fantastic last night, my grandson who had not visited for a couple of years was most impressed.
If those waiting to collect their tickets had read the website they would have seen that there were likely to be queues due to the number sold, and fans were told to turn up early to collect them.
Fantastic support from the Coventry fans last night, they helped the evening to become even more enjoyable. I watched Coventry beat us 5-0 in a cup game many years ago so I really enjoyed the win. It seems strange for their supporters talking about our riches of multi million pound players compared to their modest means.
Yes lots of comment about how good the Coventry fans were last night. We should not forget that the club is homeless having to share with Brum, and how has that happened? Could it be SISU the owners are a hedge fund who are not that interested in football, but just getting the maximum return for their investment? They have spent huge amounts of money trying to get their hands on the property and everytime the courts have thrown their case out. Wasps, the Premiership rugby club that bought the Ricoh after Sisu had tried to financially ruin the ground with a rent strike and buy it on the cheap, have consistently said they want to keep City playing there, if Sisu will stop suing. This is how football is slowly being ruined by the money grabbers, yet some seem to think it is just the way of the world.
It is the way of the world, fortunately there are very few examples of ground grabbing in English football. Several years ago I rented the house owned by the guy who set up Rushden & Diamonds. He invested and lost millions trying to help local football, sometimes it takes more than thowing money at a project. If there is insufficient local support it just doesn't work.
