I think it may have been his first ever flu jab, but as you say, sometimes you get a reaction. Better than a bad case of the disease though.
The government isn't recommending 5 months yet, although Labour have said they should. The rule (for vulnerable patients and those over 50) is that you can book an appointment at any time after 5 months is up, but the date of the appointment will not be until 6 months has passed (i.e. you can book it up to a month in advance). So your surgery is right.
I never get the annual flu jab. Before COVID, I didn’t wear a mask in shops or public transport or have to lockdown for months during flu season either.
When I worked teaching at University, I paid for it for several years before being 60. If I had been off with the flu, I would have come back to a mountain of marking, which would have awaited my return. The jab was preferable to being ill and then facing the workload, even if I had to pay for it.
Interesting that the NHS sent me a text then on the 5 month anniversary of me having my second jab ! Basically telling me to get it booked
I had my booster on Thursday, Fizzer jab this time, after already having had two Astra Zeneca jabs. Had the general flu jab at the same time. I just felt a bit sleepy but not ill for a couple of days. We all react differently I suppose.
Didn’t say it was. But I’m double-jabbed and wore masks and did all that song and dance already. People will just have to live the reality of new variants cropping up without putting life on hold, just as they do with flu variants every year.
You can book it after 5 months but it will have to be for 6 months after , if that makes any sense that's my understanding of it anyway
typical panic mentality/stupidity from media and government around the world. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-59450988
3rd case found….Xmas lockdown is my prediction https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/...LcvvZReS8FMvbitrgJp5GKXw#Echobox=1638114602-1
Have you got a bet on it, your always talking up lockdowns. I don't reckon we can afford one, and I doubt the public would comply.
