My wife who is 37, doesn't work and has no underlying medical issues has just received her appointment for the Covid Vaccine. Or does she have an uderlying medical issue? She had blood tests 4 weeks ago but she was told by the receptionist on phone all was normal but had a follow up appointment today which my wife cancelled then an hour later gets the appointment through from the doctors. Am I just bitter? I'm older, I'm a teacher and I have high blood pressure, abnormal ecg's and under a cardiologist.
If you don’t look as hot as Eddie Howe as a woman you can **** off! Has anyone on here had theirs yet and if so which one did you get and have you had any reaction/side effects to it? My Mrs was meant to get hers on Monday gone but she cancelled it (for very good reasons I have to add). Mother in law had the Oxford one a few weeks back and was a bit shakey for a few days but fine after that.
A guy I know in his 70s was very shaky for 24 hours after having it. Other than that, I haven't heard any negative stories.
I had mine 4 weeks ago. It wasn't queue jumping. I was working at a vaccination centre and they get a small number of no shows and cancellations every day. If they don't use them within a certain time of the batch being thawed then they need to be thrown away, so they vaccinate those working there instead so that they aren't wasted. They also put out calls to local police stations and places like that offering them the spare vaccines, but they can't always get there within the 15 minutes required. They aren't able to have people waiting on standby as they need to limit the number of people waiting around the vaccination centre for social distancing measures. The one I had was the Pfeizer vaccine. I had a sore upper arm for a couple of days (a bit like a dead arm). I felt a little bit shivery the day after the vaccine, but it was also when we were having very cold weather so it was possibly just that. By the third day I had no after effects at all. Others working with me also said they had the sore arms and one other person felt shivery the next day, but again it was cold weather.
Go with her when she gets the vaccine and kick off or explain you want yours at the same time. I know people who have went with their partners and they have mentioned it to the nurses and they have got theirs also.
Probably more likely to get a good result if you go down the explaining route rather than the kicking off route
personally I would rather donate mine to my Daughter but I'm not near the age or health bracket yet She's a primary school teacher that has to look after health workers kids at school when their parents tootle off to work
