Ex-Crewe Alexandra defender Patrick Ada has completed a move to Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock, the club's official website has confirmed.

Ada was a first-team regular for Alex last season, but was released at the end of the campaign when he was not offered a new contract.

Former Crewe boss Gudjon Thordarson signed Ada from Histon in the summer of 2009. He played 21 times in his debut season at Gresty Road, the club's first campaign in League Two.

He was more of a regular in his second season, becoming a regular part of the back-four and playing 45 times over the course of the season.

He scored his only goal for Alex during a 3-2 defeat at Cheltenham.

Alex wished their former player well at his new club.

They wrote on their official website: "Everyone at Crewe Alexandra would like to wish Patrick all the best with his new club."
