It's just a different game, no-one's expected to like it just because they like test cricket. It's like saying 5-a-side football's ****e, or rugby sevens, or one day cricket games. Just different.

it's even more mickey mouse cricket than the 50-over games, but, alas, both bring in the money.

Young lad Kishan playing his first senior game for India and a certain Virat Kohli are probably thinking it's a great game round about now! :emoticon-0100-smile

The Jekyll and Hyde of English Cricket, brilliant one day and very average the next.

Almost forgot there was a game today. Good win for England, brilliant batting from Kohli and Buttler. Icing on the cake though was Kohli dropping a catch :emoticon-0130-devil

It appears if you win the toss and bat second in these conditions its as good as claiming the win .. very lopsided conditions with these night games here

Much like Steve Smith you have to begrudgingly acknowledge his exceptional batting talent but that's where the admiration ends for me.

I disagree. Kohli is hugely more admirable than Smith.

He has a laser focus and is hugely driven, and has dragged his country into a modern age of cricket (notably opening up to all talent, not just the "right sort"). I don't like him in the same way I don't like all successful players of opposition teams.

    Smith is a cheat.

It takes some doing being bowled out for 32, though they did have one man injured, he might have got one or two more.

India batting in the first ODI, 45/0. England's lineup looks a bit lean in the batting department to me.

India look like posting a big score, 180/2 with 16 overs left. Billings off injured, weakens our batting even more.

Good old English batting collapse in India. Chasing 318 they go from 135/0 to 240/9, plenty of overs left, just no batters...

    Edit: all over now.

Pretty poor performance apart from the Roy/Bairstow opening stand. Our bowling was too loose and India plundered runs at will. We could have done with Root steadying the ship at 3 but he’s at home with his feet up!
