why is the uk so soft on crime?
this does not need to involve political parties or politics

why are we so soft on crime?
    build more jails

anyone who robs someone, minimum 5 years
if any weapon, instant 25 years

robbery of a home, instant 30 years

robbery of a shop - instant 10 years

Participating in a gang - instant 10 years

attempted murder such as a stabbing, 150 years
murder, 200 years - hopefully hung
rape, 200 years - hopefully hung

    arson, 50 years

major city riots - water cannons

    zero tolerance for major crime
    simple

no soft ****, let's be hard

russia wouldn't accept these daily moped attacks in it's capital..
stop being so pussy footed around it and punish the offenders

anyone who commits one of these crimes loses all human rights instantly

about time we followed great countries like denmark or russia or norway or greece and had national service as
mandatory, so 18-24 year olds are kept from doing crime by being disciplined or be sent to jail
it would do the country the world of good

    why don't we have it?
    it's such a simple solution

    #bring back national service

if this was our anthem, there would be 50% less crime
    fact

Because this isn’t 1984. If there’s no chance for rehabilitation, you’re writing people off without a second opportunity.

If you’re going to punish everybody for the slightest thing, which is where it would go under your regime, then society would constantly be living in fear of the men in Black coats coming to take you away. Only the leader of that regime would get any pleasure out of it. And he’d have to be one twisted bastard.

    So, dibs on leader.

no one who commits a crime i listed deserves rehabilitation

rehabilitation is the word that curses society

anyone who commits such a crime deserves to suffer, zero tolerance

So a starving 6 six year old orphan living on the streets of London should be punished to the full extent of the law for nicking a loaf, circumstances not taken into account, putting them in the same boat as all the other criminals you listed . Hmm yeah, it’s a system that’ll really catch on.

    Somebody burgle your house?

    Basically agree.
    Zero tolerance.
That doesn't mean people jailed for the slightest offence, and it doesn't mean no rehabilitation.
Society in this country is pretty much ****ed, and it's getting worse. An increasing number of people just don't give a ****, and that's not right.
It needs massive investment in public services (police, schools, health, prison service, grass root sports, all sorts of areas), not more cuts. It also needs the incredible waste in those areas sorting too.
    Something has to change.

bring back military service where refusal = jail

    and rehabilitation obviously doesn't work

why care about criminals, no normal people have to worry about anything

Illegal drug users, those who buy illegal drugs? Should they be allowed to live?
