Posted this on the rumours thread but think it is actually worth it's own thread! Daniel Pudil and Matej Vydra are set to join Watford on season-long loans from Granada and Udinese respectively. The arrival of Giampaolo Pozzo at Vicarage Road has helped to bring the moves about, as he owns all three of the clubs involved. He has outlined ambitious plans for the Hornets and is looking to make the most of the connections he has established throughout European football. Pudil is a Czech Republic international who spent part of last season on loan at Cesena and he is looking forward to aiding Watford in their quest to secure promotion back to the Premier League. "I did not have to think twice (about joining Watford)," he told chovanecsport.cz. Dream "I came here five years ago on trial and loved it. "I know Watford have excellent fans so when my agent told me about this option a few days ago, I welcomed it. "I have always dreamt of playing in England and everyone recommended this move. I am convinced the English style of play will suit me. "I don't consider this to be a step back. This is a league where there are big clubs fighting for promotion into the Premier League, a league every footballer dreams of. "I'm also looking forward to playing under Gianfranco Zola." Fitness Czech U21 international striker Vydra endured an injury-ravaged 2011/12 campaign, but is convinced that he can make a positive impact at Watford. "I see this as a big opportunity and I can't wait to play," he said. "Watford is in London and the second division in England is a great competition. "Hopefully I will win a place in the starting line-up. I'm hungry for football after last season was marred by injury. "I feel fit and the knee is keeping together. I hope myself and Dan will be good assets for Watford."
We are in the second level, it doesn't matter what fancy name it has. Perhaps reverting to First Division would be easier, the winner of the Championship is never going into the Champions League. We have the top league then the first division - call me petty but that is how I see it. And I'm sure he'll love the rolling "London" countryside. Could this be a repeat of Iwan Roberts and Malcolm Allen, but in Czech?
The striker seems to be lacking some goals, but then he hasn't had much time to play and he's young... so it could work out well. The left back/winger seems like a promising move. Honestly I would like Dickinson out of the side, don't think he's really good enough.
They sound pretty useful with some international experience for the Czech republic and can fill 2 roles we are weak in..hopefully the new lads can settle quickly and become important members of the team. Afterall anyone is probably better than Garner and defensive wise more solid than Dickinson...
looks promosing, positions we needed too. Let's face it, if the Pozzo's had been sniffing around before they bought us then they should know the areas we need to strengthen.
Top man is Italian Director of football is Italian Coach is Italian First two new players are... ...from Czech Republic
A reminder that while most West Ham fans are decent people, they do have their share of bitter Jeremy 'unts.
Sure the Football league will tell us in good time if there is an issue. The 2 other clubs appear to have no problems swapping players around and they are pretty high profile in their leagues.
No doubt that pile of ****e will be copied and pasted all over the WEB as "nailed on facts"...we will soon find out if loaning players from our other clubs causes issues. Not sure it will, we can loan players from any clubs in the EU..
I hope someone informed him that Watford is not in London. I can remember when for a good few years we had no left footers in the squad. Now we have 3!!! Bloomin eck!
