Happy Father's Day to all of you lads, wherever you are. This is your special day to relax and have a or two. After the past horrendous year or two, extra hugs are in order, if possible Special thoughts also for loved ones no longer with us
Laundry when they're home in my experience Despite any of that they're wonderful ... ... but the grandkids are better!
Bittersweet for me. I don't have kids but my two brothers do, so it's nice to see them enjoy fathers day with their kids. However it's the first one since my dad died last year, so it was a visit to the cemetery and laying flowers on his grave this morning with the rest of the family.
Earlier this week me to my 20yr old son; Remind your mum she needs to take you out to get me something for father's day Wife to me later that day; I haven't a clue what to get you for father's day, what would you like? This 2 months after me sending her a couple of links from facebook marketplace to items that I said I would like for father's day.
Two lovely cards off my two daughters Grandson is waiting for his big sister returning next week from a month train trecking around Europe with two of her mates. At least it gives him more time to ask his mother what present he's buying me Your right though Smug I seem to get more pleasure out of the grandkids than I did my own two, probably not having the same responsibility as I had bringing my two up.
Bacon sarnie with brown sauce and a cuppa served in bed for me this morning. A nice bottle of the new Prada aftershave. It's the little things that make me so happy
Nice round of golf for me this morning and a lazy afternoon ahead. Kids coming later. I agree with @Smug in Boots about grandkids I enjoy them more I think than bringing up your own kids. As a shift worker back in the day of bringing up kids I seemed to miss a lot of there growing up which was quite sad looking back. Much easier now with grandkids when you have so much more quality time to give them . Retirement helps mind.
I played football this morning, then got a bottle of Glenfiddich from my youngest daughter, a bottle of Taittinger from my eldest, and various things from my boy, including a 'No. 1 Dad' star mug (which is already at the back of a cupboard) and a large bottle of Bud (I don't like lager . . . . and it's a woman's drink anyway). Does anybody want a mug
I hardly saw my kids growing up because of my work, I make up for it with the grandkids though, they have me wrapped around their little fingers
I got a hat, a tomahawk steak and a hug off my son. Happy days, just about to open a bottle of red in celebration
Oooooh tomahawk steak, nice. Meat supermarket have them on offer at the moment £18kg nearly half the price of other companies and it’s grass fed Cornish beef.
One bottle of cassario vanilla flavour spiced rum, one bottle of dead man's fingers spiced rum and a most agreeable day with the family. Blessed to be alive today my friends.
