Now Defoe I would have back in a blink.

Scored plenty SPL which is upper League One/lower Championship standard overall.

Absolutely, if he came you know he’d put the graft in to be best he can.

Doesn’t feel impossible to me that one.

He's been poor for three years. Literally hasn't played a professional game of football in over a year. Had a horrible attitude to begin with.

    No thanks.

You certainly do! What good is another Rodwell as that is exactly what he’d end up? Money is all he’s interested in. And he’d probably destroy the team spirit which we’ve seen built up since Johnson arrived. Don’t need egos like that in this league. I’d rather have Charlie Wyke thanks

He would tear this league up and you know it. Luckily for you, he wouldn’t want to come here anyway. Pretty sure you were one of the ones who didn’t want Mcgeady near to the side because he’s a ‘bully’ <laugh>

IF he was fit and ready to go from the off, and wanted to prove himself good enough to get back in the prem next season, he'd be worth the gamble.
Maybe, but if he was of that mind, I imagine that he'd try his luck in the 2nd tier, or even with bsa, who has form for player rejuvenation.

    So it's all bollocks.

I can’t remember attitude being Sturridge downfall, other than pushing through his move between City and Chelsea.

Injuries ****ed him. He was sensational at times when fit his partnership with Suarez was magic.

He did alright in Turkey before the ban.

Stand by what I said and happily admit I was wrong about McGeady. Humble pie I can handle, it isn’t your strong point though!

Sturridge, if fit and motivated, would absolutely tear up this league. He is neither of them so I can’t see the attraction. On the pitch he complained constantly to refs. Dived, cheated. What good is that to us when we have a player getting fouled constantly and getting nothing?

I assume his attitude on pitch is similar to that off it. If the mags weren’t interested due to his condition, what good is he to us?

There were always rumours that he was injured so much because any little niggle and he would refuse to play and go on the injury list. Niggles that players play with every week.

I for one would imagine him to think he is well above us and league 1.

Yeah I don’t think or hope for a second we sign him.

As stated, I do think Defoe would come though and I think he’d still bag for fun at this level.

I doubt very much the club would go down this route. Recruitment is now a scientific and carefully planned process. Taking on a big name because he is a big name who in the past has achieved is a thing of the past for this club I hope. It is now about recruiting players that have a contribution to make into the future, who can fit a particular style of play, and who can develop with the club.
