BBC is reporting that Rangers are about to sign Danns; now a free agent from Palace. Would have thought he would have been a good choice for us... what do others think?
It's not a matter of what we'd like, but what the player wants. Reportedly, we were interested but how serious that was we will never know. Most people wouldn't have minded if we signed him, but now he's going to Rangers he's obviously rubbish.
Rangers are in the CL and I expect he will get a decent wedge up there too. Besides were we in for him anyway.
I used to think danns was a reasonable player, however if he does end up north of the border I think that says a lot about him as a player. Yes he will get CL football for a couple of months, but when they get knocked out and in-between times - he will be playing equivalent League 1 stuff (with exception of a couple of teams). Yes he will also get a shed load of cash, but in dann's case it would appear more like an attempt to get himself or his agent in the shop window rather than go to a club and really graft .... Rant over....
He seems to have been continuously linked with us for ages. Not sure whether there was ever any serious interest though.
I don't know why it can't be accepted that he may be on his way to a club that can offer CL football. We don't even know if we were after him.
Haha are you serious? Ok He gets to play in the best derby in the world, he gets to play european football and if he is a good layer he becomes popular with at least 250,000 fans no brainer really not to mention money.
No big loss, there are plenty of others out there. I'm glad we're not linked to him anymore, having that hanging around was pretty tedious.
Having lived up in Glasgow as an Englishman, I'm not whether he would understand quite what it is like esp with the Centic fans - it can be rather uncomfortable at times especially when it comes to the derby game Dark Lord
He had the chance to join us at the same time as Fonte joined. He spurned a move to us then. So he really isn't the player for us that's for sure. He wants a bigger club that's fine by me. He obviously wants to play in the obscurity of the Scottish league and that's despite the fact of champions league football. No biggie, no problem, plenty more fish in the sea.
When I saw Rangers I expected it to be QPR. He's more than capable of joining any one of a number of Premier League clubs so it's surprising he's going to Rangers. Any possibility of him coming to us ended at the time Fonte joined us.
