The Oirish journalist(sic) has the manky mob creaming their pants. One of his totally reliable sources has told him that Dave King had a meeting with Mike Ashley at which he asked Ashley to buy him out. Now we all know that Big Phil is fairly rotten when it comes to being, shall we say.....accurate. His sectarian based hatred for all things Rangers has a tendency to colour his views somewhat. Lets imagine there is a slither of truth to what he says though. Do we care? Well, we certainly wouldn't want him selling his stake in Rangers to Ashley. Given the SFA rules on duality though, that can't happen. A fact I'm sure Dave King knew when he supposedly offered Ashley his shares. Dave's a lot of things but he isn't stupid. So it's a wee bit surprising that he would do such a stupid thing. We only have Glesga Phils word for that though so hey ho. The thing about Dave though. He has been quite contradictory recently. He started out banging on about how much he was personally going to invest. 20 to 30 million I seem to remember. These days though it looks as if he would prefer the fans to do the Iinvesting through sesson tickets. I dare say they will because the club seems to be moving in a reasonable direction with people on the board that they trust. Dave, for me, doesn't fit into that category. He hasn't really done anything to earn our trust to be honest. If he decides to bail out then so be it. Throwing money at RFC like he has promised to do is not the way to go anyway. Rangers have to live within our means. We have another chance to do things the right way. We don't need King for that. We need some common sense and a wee dose of reality.
Aldo, If it said it on a blog it must be true. I believe everything I read everywhere by everybody. He has bought 14million quid worth of shares although he tried to sell them to Mike Ashley apparently. Rumour has it that Ashley refused to buy them because they didn't have a 75% off label on them.
So that's £34 million we're up to now. I think Charles Green is pulling his strings like a Yorkshire Geppetto.
