96 mate, a very young nurse in the latter years of the war. My grandad was with Monty in the tanks fighting. She's at peace now, at last, and can join him.
Nah, this is not one of your **** threads. We all have to make that journey one day, and we all have to watch when some of our loved ones make it.
There’s been a couple of times this year when we really thought my mum was on her way out. She hung in there though, bounced back, and will be 85 in January, if she makes it that far. I think they bred em tougher, back in the day.
I'm dreading the funeral mate. It will be a massive turnout, no doubt. When i got the call from my Mum this morning, i knew what it was going to be about, in fact when i posted this thread, i knew what was coming. I even went to see my mum and dad today, and you can tell she was putting on a brave face. I never cry, but after the call, i just laid back in my bed, and had a tear,
Yeah, funerals are a bit **** really. A chance for you to support your mum though. I usually cut and run pretty early after family funerals. **** being surrounded by a load of pissed up, depressed relatives. Do my bit, and then go.
Probably what i should/will do. But no doubt it will go pear shaped, after my mum leaves, the beer kicks in, and then tell them what a bunch off ****s they are.
