No, you’re not obliged to post anything, the RIP thread is not the place to be taking a pop at people who’ve just died.

RIP Assem. He has left a legacy in the city of Hull. His philanthropic endeavours changed the lives of many for the better. On the occasions I met him he came across as a really nice gentleman. He saved our club from extinction and equiped the team so it could reach an FA Cup Final and into Europe, all in a short space of time. For that I will always be thankful. It may never happen again! Thoughts with his wife and family.

Thank you for what you did Assem, sincerely. A part of our club that encapsulated the highs and lows of being a football fan.

    RIP Assem Allam <peacedove>

Are we all fault free, absolutely not. Today is not about the frailties, the bad, but the good - Assem Allam did an enormous amount of good for the City of Hull, the Universities and local hospitals. For Hull City football, reaching the Premier League, FA Cup final and Europa league footie, something not likely to witness again in my lifetime, although always hoping I’m wrong!

RIP, sincere condolences to the family & friends.

As many have already said, he did a massive amount for the city and people of Hull, as well as providing the platform for the best ever spell on the pitch that any of us have ever witnessed or ever thought we might.
Condolences to his family and friends. RIP

After hearing the news of his passing, I did check for a "done one" thread. His ownership of City, and his many acts of philanthropy, created divisions that would surface again if posted elsewhere.
I will not open those old wounds here, also I hope nobody else does.
Condolences to his family and friends.

Sad to hear. A true friend to the city of Hull in so many ways and helped to give us fans a ride we will never forget. R.I.P. to a good man.

The '98' in your moniker represents the year you were born, right.
History began long before Allam acquired the reins of Hull City A.F.C.
If you think Allam 'did more for the city of Hull', then you need to visit a library old bean.

A man like every other, a combination of positives and of faults. But unlike my combination, his ensured that a club on the brink was saved - something mine could never have done; his brought us to dizzying heights, something mine could never have done.
