Looks like selling Ross McCormack to Villa last summer was a great decision - we got our money back on him after (possibly) the last two good years of his career in England. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football..._the_day&ns_source=facebook&ns_linkname=sport Despite his constant willingness to look for a better move, he did well for us on the pitch. Good luck to him in Australia.
It's a sad story, given the rapid drop off. McCormack did well for us (and us for him), but it was a classic example of a team being more important than a player. The cash received was reinvested effectively and the change in the style of play (primarily by shifting the emphasis to our midfielders and away from our strikers) is a big reason for our overall improvement. We are genuinely better without him, but I still appreciate his goals and his critical role in keeping us in the division as we recovered from a relegation that seemed to hit us harder than anyone really expected. Good luck in Australia, Ross.
