I've seen other teams do it, and it seemed to work okay for Sam, (although the fans didn't like it much). Is it maybe time for Bilic to try it and see if it works? At the moment it seems that he's trying a subterfuge approach to fool his opponents by putting players in defensive positions but, from my perspective, the headless chicken approach doesn't appear to be working. I know my coaching expertise is very limited, but I think some defensive unit training beyond formation standing at corners could help.
You could put Lev Yashin at the height of his prowess in goal for West Ham and he'd look ****, it's the players directly in front of them that's the problem, and has been since Allardyce left.
