Shame it never worked for him. There's a very good player in there if only he could show more consistency, hopefully he'll get more game time now and realise his potential, like Kramaric has. Hope we have a sell on clause.
I feel he never made the step up. Looked good coming on for the final 20 minutes of games if we were behind. Good luck to him.
He's still young, so hopefully he'll get plenty of opportunity to mature and show what he can do. Shame it didn't work out for him here.
Hope he does well and gets a decent amount of game time, although "He is a tricky, very fast and penetrating winger who will give our attacking game an additional boost." could be read as he'll be used as an impact sub, pretty much as he was here.
I'd agree ... can see him getting loads of opportunities to cut in from the left and curl a right footer into the top corner as was his speciality here ...
Glad for him he gets a fresh start. Didn’t cost much, a chunk of that recouped and he did score enough goals in important games to warrant what we paid anyway so nothing lost, just hasn’t kicked on as we hoped. Hopefully he does well in Germany as a number of English players seem to be doing.
Whilst I wish him well if he goes on to be as successful as Kramaric our transfer reputation will take a serious hit.
I think the boat's already sailed with that one after the Slimani debacle. It just shows how buying the right player can be a lottery. Some players don't settle in a new country, some have problems with the language (mainly foreign ones ), some don't fit into a team's way of playing and some don't get on with other players in the dressing room. From a human point of view I hope Gray now goes on to fulfil his personal ambitions while he's still young enough and that is far more important than our transfer reputation.
Hes probably going to look as good as Sancho out there, then have a big money move back to the prem and flop again. Kind of the same with Kramaric tbh, bring him back to the prem and hes probably going to be at a Wilson/Bamford level rather than a Kane/Vardy level. Certain players suit certain leagues.
Had an assist yesterday. 2-0 up in the 89th minute, but drew 2-2 Didn't realise Dragovic also plays for Bayer 04 Leverkusen!
Surely this just proves that some matches in the bundesliga are not at prem level. He hasn't gone there and suddenly turned into a good footballer, though him providing assists is at least an improvement on his usual "look at the floor and shoot from anywhere" technique.
I think it is more to with him just being an attacking winger - here he had to defend, there he just runs the line. Marc Albrighton would have been considered the greatest player ever if he'd gone to the Bundesliga instead of joining us.
