Did anyone else see a newcastle player touch the ball on its way into the net ?? Surely it was offside as the newcastle player was standing in an offside position and interfering with play as the goalkeeper could have been unsighted , also why no Leeds player complain to the referee and ask for VAR ??? Leeds goalkeeper must have seen it why he did not say anything ? Or some of Leeds defenders ? Just 1 week before Leeds had a goal chalked off at west ham for exactly the same thing ???? What's your thoughts ?

Have a look again , the goalkeeper must have seen it and several players
Don't think so the newcastle player who touched it was beyond any leeds defender and also he was interfering with play as he unsighted leeds goalkeeper , you can see this clearly as the Camara is right behind shelves as he takes the free kick , leeds had one chalked off last week for same at west ham

I was amazed VAR didn't take a look at it. It looked like someone got a touch on the ball and that's why Meslier missed it. I was watching Citeh yesterday evening and VAR must have spent 5 minutes looking at a possible penalty for De Bruyne yet they didn't appear to even look at the Newcastle goal.

Why did no Leeds player complain to the referee they should of and messier must have seen it touch a newcastle player , I would like someone to ask the leeds players about the newcastle player touching the ball and nobody complains to referee

not for me sniffer, they were ahead of Roberts but behind klich and probably ayling.

if the attacker got a touch he’d have been claiming it.

No he would not of been claiming it as he knew he was offside and beyond any leeds player

except he wasn’t offside, and didn’t think he was otherwise he wouldn’t have played at it. Players almost always instinctively claim a goal if they get a touch.

    So didn't touch it… onside anyway <cheers>

Look at the replay of the free kick you can see clearly 1 if not 2 newcastle players off side when the free kick is taken and also on the replay you can clearly see the newcastle player touching the ball on its way into the net it was offside and Leeds united once again have been fiddled out of a game by cheating authorities there should of been VAR and also Leeds players need to be asked why they did not complain to the referee

If another newcastle player had of claimed it , then questions would of been asked about it been offside so the newcastle cheating player stayed quiet

so I’m not a Leeds fan because I don’t agree with you? <laugh><laugh>

We’ve been shafted by var and refs numerous times this season. Yesterday this goal was fair and they should have had a pen

Whether he touched it or not, doesn't really matter, given that none of them were in an offside position when Shelvey took the free kick.

Did it look like he touched it to me, then yes, but he was in an onside position anyway.

So no need to jump on the "FA and Officials are biased against us" in this specific case. We didn't play as well as we should have, we made some mistakes and that cost us the game, and I would consider us fortunate that neither the ref nor VAR decided to give the penalty later on, as I would have wanted a penalty if it had been one of our attacking players in that position.

Ayling clearly played the Newcastle attackers onside and you can tell that with the naked eye but VAR confirmed it for good measure. What is does highlight though is Ayling, plus Klich dropped too deep and should have kept a higher defensive line. Then it would have been ruled out for offside.

Also, as milky said it was also a clear foul on ASM and Toon should have had a pen.

We lost but played ok and actually quite well in the first half but it's football and you need to get the ball in the ' old onion bag ' which we failed to do. After the Newcastle goal we played too narrow and rushed just about everything resulting in poor crosses and/or losing possession.
