I’ve been having more or less what I had for the first three months of lockdown with slight variations and improvements and ever increasing amounts of chilli.
Still eating well. This was Sunday dinner with green beans and carrots. Steels, where are you mate? Hope all is well.
been a while since I ventured on here, however had my first fry up in months...Thought it would be good to share
I had intended to eat a lovely ‘Brazilian Tomato and Black Bean Pot with Cashew and Quinoa’........but as we’ve just found our neighbour dead in her house....I ordered in Pizza Hut instead
Thanks Beth. To be honest I can handle it and seeing the body didn’t phase me......my Mrs who found her might be a different case though. It’s gonna be a minefield of emotion in my house tonight.
Hope you can handle all this extra stuff Stainsey... Thoughts with you, your missus and the kids.. What a trauma. ❤️
Talk about a bus drivers holiday. You are now officially in counselling mode, not everyone sees this every day. Be patient. What a bummer of a way to start the weekend.
Yeah it’s weird being on the other side of things.....like waiting for the medics to arrive to do the ROLE. Then the police ‘cos it was an unexpected death. Knowing what happens and the process made it a lot easier for me but the Mrs ain’t coping well.....very quiet and subdued. She hasn’t really spoken much about it right now.
How are things after this trauma mate? Over the course of this fiasco/lockdown, the Roasting Tin recipes have been top of the pops for family dinners. And the winner amongst those is the gnocchi, mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, pine nuts bake, which takes 10 minutes to prep and 30 to cook. Having it again tonight and the excitement level in the house is high. Requires alcohol accompaniment to cut through the cheese. A tasty Spanish Verdejo white tonight.
All good mate.....night shifts this week so I just grabbed a quorn shepherds pie out of the freezer and chomped that down. Got my usual protein bar tonight to keep me going (along with coffee). Hopefully should see me through. Mrs and daughter are still struggling with the loss of the neighbour but possibly ‘cos I deal with death a lot....I’m genuinely calm about it all. Saying that there was a horrific job here last night (it’s in the news) which we luckily didn’t get pinged for. After talking to one of the crews on it I’m so glad I wasnt....I dunno how I could if coped.
Mrs Squat delivered some extra large ‘tails on’ king prawns done in her famous special spices & goodness on a plate, combined with some fresh Cos lettuce & sourdough bread. ( just a little slice ). The meal was delicious with the exception that Didley couldn’t help himself and ate one too many prawns. All in all, a scrummy meal indeed.
