After a really impressive - and much calmer - performance, what do you think?

I haven't a clue. I'll leave it to Ron to decide because I think he has that responsibility also he totally ignored me when I told him not to sell Morgan and that was a far more important decision than this.

Yes. Definitely. Absolute quality today. Our MOTM by miles.

And he is the FUTURE. He's still only 23. Stekelenburg certainly isn't the future and isn't even our keeper.

I think we should encourage him, and that means to reward good performances with more opportunities.

Maarten hasn't wowed us and is a loanee. Good to see Fraser on the horizon, though...

Thought I'd be in a minority on this one, but yes.

If anyone still isn't sure, Stekelenburg and Pelle weren't actually injured, just dropped.

Although now I think back, Spurs at home was the scene of that 2-3 game involving Paulo, Danny Fox and Jos Hooiveld...

Gazzaniga was thrown in far to early originally - he is improving all the time. Play him.

Yeah, otherwise those injuries sure saved Ron from some difficult decisions. Pelle has needed a rest for weeks, so that bit was actually true.

About time we started living up to our reputation and giving some of the youngsters a chance. One at a time though not all at once! :)

I'm clearly totally in the minority, but I'm not surprised at that.

For me, it's one game. I'm very pleased to see Gazza play well in that one game, and if Ron wants to give him another chance on the back of that then fine. But it is just one game. I'm not jumping on a bandwagon after just that. It's not long ago that people generally seemed happy with the possibility of Stek joining us permanently, to provide us with a solid back-up to Forster. Yes he's a loanee now, but it doesn't mean that he absolutely has no future with us.

I completely appreciate the age thing, and I agree that Gazza needs game time if he's going to make it at the highest level. But are people assuming we'll be selling Fraser then? He's only 27. He could have five years in goal for us at the highest level yet, maybe ten. So if Gazza is to make it, if he is the future, then it wont be with us unless Frazer leaves. So for me, any decision on who plays in goal for us whilst Fraser is injured should be based on the here and now - and one good 90 minutes isn't going to suddenly make me want to ditch Stek, who I've been quite happy with this season.

Can't really reply, as it's only one game. However, I've said since he joined that he'd come good; he has the basics right and he's a hell of a shot-stopper. He just had his confidence bashed when he started as number one too quickly. The crowd got on his back (who'd have thought?) and he lost his self-belief.

He clearly had it back and today can only have built him further back up. I'd gently reintroduce him and see what happens. Maybe not next game but occasionally till we can see it's not a one-off (and so his confidence isn't pushed too hard).

This would be an appropriate time for someone geeky to post the shots:goals ratio for stek vs Fraser and ideally boruc too.

I'm guessing its fairly low. I know stek has a good pedigree and has made a few class saves that have given us some points but lately he has been poor, along with several other players.

People get irate about Pelle being nailed on as a starter but don't feel the same about dropping a keeper who is not in form. It worked for hart.

I'm not saying Gaza should now be 2nd behind Fraser but surely if stek isn't playing well then Gazza deserves another start after a good performance. Keepers should have to play for the gloves just like outfield players have to keep their place.

Just as a matter of interest, should we still be signing a keeper or does one performance change that view?

Looks like he had a great game today and I'm really pleased.

I just dread his first error or "unacceptable" performance and the same posters promoting him will have him hung, drawn and quartered on the Old city walls.
