One of the snags of keeping a dog is that normaly you expect to outlive them. And no matter how many times you go through the loss, it never gets any easier. So you have the sympathy of all of us who have been where you are now. I gather that you still have at least one at home, though in my experience this is not as much help as others think it might be. And I hope it's not insensitive of me to suggest you consider a replacement as soon as you can face it. If it's to be another Cocker, get a different colour to Murphy, so that you aren't comparing all the time. But if you have a puppy to look after, it helps. And if you have children, it REALLY helps.
