I actually had to change it to make it correct, as he can buy himself out this summer, if he wants, using the Webster rule. It's not quite like macca as he'll have to pay the remainder of his contract, but the end result is the same, he moves and you don't get any of the transfer, he gets it all (less a ridiculous agents fee, ofc)
That's bollocks though, name one big name player who's used the Webster ruling? Errrrmmmmm There's a reason for that...
Yes I think so, primarily because no one is confident it'll stand up as a definitive precedent, hence the reason no one has gone down the path.
Once I discovered I was wrong I realised I was a year out and he could leave at the next window, which means your statement of "he can't leave til 2019" was even more out than I thought it was. except it is a precedent, and it's also known as article 17 by FIFA who have put it in their rules.
If you had the vaguest clue about what you were talking about, then you might ask yourself why it's not common place since the Webster ruling back in 2008? The reason is it's not as simple as the player simply paying up his contract. The parent club are entitled to a payment that covers the 'harm suffered' as a result of the player terminating his contract. It's now standard for PL clubs to have a clause in the contract that states that the 'harm suffered' should a player terminate his contract, is the current market value of said player. I
You don't like the rule don't cry at me, it ain't my fault, take it up with Blatter. All I've done is simply told you what could happen, as per the rules, which are there in black and white for all to read, if they can.
You've not read up on it though, it won't happen as it's never happened since Webster himself, and there's a reason for that.......
Makes you wonder why Sterling or Stones never used this escape route or that others do it every season?
All it makes me wonder is how bad the education system is in Merseyside as you 2 can't seem to read or understand anything at all. Tell me, which part of Article 17 are you unable to comprehend?
