Me...me next. Can I pretend that the same Liz Truss who says British workers are lazy has never done a stroke of physical labour in her entire life?

It’s a little know fact, Keir Starmer took a six week course to become a barrister before that he was a hod carrier.

This has just made my day. Go on Liz, make Maggie proud!

    ---------------------------------------------------------

Liz Truss, who is currently bookies' favourite to become the next PM, has vowed to "crackdown" on strikes if she is selected as Tory Party leader.

The foreign secretary has outlined her plans to tackle strikes, which include introducing minimum service levels to keep transport links running.

"Once again we're seeing militant trade unionists holding our country to ransom," she told the Daily Express.

"As prime minister, I'll crackdown on the debilitating strikes that cripple the vital services that hard-working people rely on."

Liz Truss and Shapps are in the dark ages still, the fight is against the fat cats now, billions of gallons of water go down the drain everyday and we get hosepipe bans while the fat bastards pocket over 20 million in bonuses for the year. I believe the majority of the public are behind the railway workers and have seen nothing to dispute that.

The public always get behind strikes at the start. Give it time and the tide will turn against them. History shows us that.

I may have mentioned with g'kids on holiday in Lincolnshire. We are not taking them for a swim in the sea cos of pollution, ie siht.

Privatisation of natural monopolies never really works.

Most water companies now owned by overseas investors who get big dividends or share cash buybacks. Senior management get big wages and bonuses.

No new reservoirs have been built in years, leakage is as high as ever and after every big storm, crap is released into rivers and seas... the Environment Agency is obviously in the investors pockets ( although after years of tory cutbacks the staffing is way below what is needed to do the job). EA with tends to react rather than being proactive.

I think it will, mate. Once it starts really impacting on people just trying to go about their business, the tide will turn.

Let’s see who’s right then.<ok> You need to remember the people also haven’t had a rise in god knows how many years, they will more likely be joining them, than being against them.

The people need to realise what situation the world is in economically. Now, isn't the time to be striking and ****ing things up for folk not wanting the drama and just trying to get on with their lives. Do you not think train drivers get a big enough wage as it is?

We know the next steps with these unions. Picket lines with people being attacked who choose to cross and do an honest days work. Slabs dropped on cars killing people who again just want to work and put food on the family table.

I actually don’t think any of that will happen, and no I don’t believe they are on a big enough wage as it is, I might of done if the greedy bastards at the top were on the same money as they were on 10/15 years ago but they aren’t, if they get made redundant where do you think the money comes from to pay them, I can tell you, you and me. While the companies make more money and give it to the twats at the top until they need more redundancies. Do you really believe they need million pound salaries + bonuses, what the hell do they do for it?

Not now I don't, no. Bonuses have to be earned and clearly they've never earned that right. I've got no issue with the salary, though. It's a huge responsibility and difficult job that they have and that is reflected in their pay packet.

The drivers are on a grand a week. Sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more, depending on length of service. They're making it difficult for low earners to get to and from their jobs, the same people who are crippled for a month if their wage is reduced. It's alright for the train drivers sitting it out, they'll not suffer losing a little bit of pay.

But, to be fair, she's making promises, issuing pledges and setting out plans ...

... she'll obviously accomplish nothing but she's showed herself capable of the appropriate patter.

Populism means not being overly fussed about actual results. They are a mere side issue to the more important issue at hand of sound bites that the blue rinse brigade will lap up.
