I don’t believe that people on here can write authoritatively about politics because we haven’t a clue what goes on behind the scenes.

There is no alternative, governments are like wives ... you can only have one at a time.

I'm not interested in what might have been if I'd married someone else, just how my life is now.

My last actual comment, on this thread, was ....

I doubt there could be any connection in these two conversations <whistle>

"British Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday, September 2 2020, with the objective of fostering closer ties with the Kingdom and strengthening of trade and investment between both the nations."

"The Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, warned Boris Johnson in a text message, 15 Apr 2021, that UK-Saudi Arabian relations would be damaged if the British government failed to intervene to “correct” the Premier League’s “wrong” decision not to allow a £300m takeover of Newcastle United last year."

There's no point guessing how the situation might be, under Starmer, but surely that doesn't mean you can't comment on it.

My point is that it looks as if there may be a conflict of interest with the PM, the PL and the Saudis.

I'm not saying the PM should lose his head over it.

Like I said, in that case it seems pointless if all it does is create friction on this board to the point a mod has to say he’s going to shut the thread.

People having differing opinions doesn't create friction for me, it's a chat forum where people chat about stuff ...

... I suspect you're addressing the wrong poster.

If people don't want to see what I've posted they can put me on ignore or avoid the thread ...

... no one is holding a sword over their head.

Friction is okay, Roochy, as long as it stimulates debate without getting 'out of hand' like it did last night. Fortunately, that has been resolved and healthy and friendly debate has resulted again, and nobody is deliberately looking to cause trouble :emoticon-0148-yes:

I’m not addressing the wrong poster it was you who wrote it, maybe think before you write something that could cause friction. Like you said the only person on this board you haven’t fell out with is Sunderpitt. Think about it!

    Precisely.

The opposite of commenting on the performance of the current government is to hold your hands up and accept whatever they do without question ...

... although I'd imagine Fiona Bruce would struggle to keep Question Time moving along <laugh>

And you are posting that without any sense of hypocrisy <laugh>

Seriously, shouldn't you be saying that to your the person who disrupted the thread and caused all the friction ...

... or are you just here to back him up and continue the argument.

That's what we're all looking for, a bit of stimulating friction.

Yeah but we can have fun guessing. Also when the dirty diggers rag The Times often portrays Bonko as a clown, this could be taken as a substantive hint?

But we are allowed to say bozo is probably the worst pm in history and how he's managed to pull the wool over so many is frightening, without having to mention the mess we could have been in if corbyn had formed a government?

That was obviously a joke but you latch onto it like a lifebelt in a whirlpool.

You've obviously just come on to resurrect the argument which is all you tend to do tbh.

You are also allowed to say no other pm in history has had Brexit and a pandemic to deal with at the same time but I don’t think you have,

New PR voting system is my first change so more political voices are heard. Make wellbeing a political priority. Increase support for and prioritisation of not for profit business. Adopt intercultural economic policy which makes best use of the skills of different cultures for the economic benefit of the nation. Green economy so we don’t all flood. Ensure multi nationals and the richest folk pay fair tax instead of a burden being on the poorest.
