Often in Kent myself, but l live in NN8 and the roads are far worst than Kent. I have invites my local MP, and local Councillor to come and inspect the road from my house to a roundabout, to see if they think that pot holes on that quater of a mile of road are acceptable. No reply as of yet.
Hereditary peers who offer nothing should be the first out, I agree. There will be those who take the responsibility and make an effort to become experts in a field though, which is what the HoL should be about - a repository of really deep knowledge on a particular subject that has the time to consider legislation of varying quality coming at them from the news cycle obsessed Commons properly. Let's be honest, they don't want rid of it because it's undemocratic - they want rid because it makes them do their job properly.
There's a continual push to be more eco-friendly but riding bikes on some roads is like crossing a minefield ... ... when potholes are bad enough to damage car wheels they're a potential deathtrap for cyclists.
We’ve had potholes mended on a 1 mile stretch of road here and I honestly believe if you paid contractors to do the worst possible repair they could do it would be better than what’s been done. Is no one responsible for anything anymore, why are they not sent back over and over again until it’s right. Some knumbskull from the council has obviously signed this work off
Labour? - right decision and the defendant should be prosecuted if there’s anything in the allegations. Johnson appointed MPs accused to prominent positions - guess the party?
So I read Bonko has passed over to the Cabinet Office all his notebooks(?) and WhatsApp messages. If he has, well done him, (not often I say that). But has he really not redacted some or left some out? Has he done it solely to embarrass Sunak. Bonko, might hurt himself (as the chances of him making a comeback recede, that doesn't matter?). As Bonko may know Sunak's WhatsApps are worse. Ferrets/rats fighting in a sack... incredible political theatre!
Of course that’s what it is. He sinks Sunak and gets himself back in. That’s how his brain works and why Sunak has been trying to finish off his prey. Total narcissism all round. I’m not even a fan of Labour but the desperate bastards defending Tories on here is totally embarrassing.
It has taken 61 years, but I have finally distilled all my political leanings into one central idea: We don't need a Democrat president. We don't need a Republican president. We need a Manufacturing president. Sorts damn near everything, even the environment.
TBF I think a certain group on here are not defending the Tories more of, throw away the narrow minded rosette, don’t see many defending this current government,as it has been the most inept one i can remember
Exactly. Get good people into these jobs rather than whoever wears the right colour rosette and the quality of government will inevitably rise. It might not be the side prefer in charge, but at least we could have confidence that they weren't incompetent or actively looking to do harm. Unfortunately it's going to take decades of this approach to fix it, and far too many people are completely entrenched in the simplistic ideology for it to start happening on a large enough scale.
That is my view mate. Worst govt in my lifetime and I have said that before. I am not about to give Labour, who are the govt in waiting, a free pass though. We need to be able to call them out as well, maybe it will encourage them to be a better govt, although I dont suppose Keir is a regular visitor to this little corner if the internet
Aye he has done this for his own agenda and cause embarrassment for the government who have now been well and truly pushed l into a corner. This suggests that the cabinet were the ones wanting to redact certain parts so he looks like he is fully complying. Although he still missed the original deadline.
