Yeah you're right but nobody's been done for what Barcelona are doing which the rules clearly say is indirect approach to a player. Ours were direct approaches.

 

So then, as i said when I posted the article last night, it's about time we reported them, it'd be naive to think they wouldn't report another club trying it on with them.

 

Any punishment handed out to them, if there was any, would have little to no impact so is it worth it?

 

Yeah, I think so, because if they were to do it again to another club they'd no doubt get sanctioned (hopefully)

 

It's difficult because the tapping up is between two different FA's so I'm not sure if the Spanish FA would dish out sanctions to them. The best thing we did was not to budge on our position in the summer despite the huge arm twisting going on. Can't understand why they're still going on about it - maybe it's to keep it live so that if Coutinho joins them - big if - they can claim some sort of victory as if it's the same transfer move and not a new one.

Barcelona are set to relaunch their bid to sign Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho in January.


This is subsequently set to have implications on Tottenham’s pursuit of Andre Gomes, according to the Daily Mail.

Spurs started tracking the midfielder towards the end of last summer but were unable to sign the Portuguese international.

However, with Barcelona set to spend an eye-watering £120m, Tottenham could well reap the benefits of this

With another midfielder set to arrive in Catalunya, Barcelona are willing to offload Portuguese midfielder, Andre Gomes.


He has faced a torrid time following his arrival from Valencia back in 2016 for around £45m.

Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Sergi Roberto, Ivan Rakitic and Paulinho are all currently ahead of him in the pecking order.

It is understood that Barcelona would be willing to allow Gomes to leave for a fee of around £20m.

I thought we might have seen the back of this - for a few months at least. Ah well........

 

Yeah saint, the thing is Joe.co.uk have found a new slant on it, if our owners cave in to the Barca offer it will benefit a direct rival of ours(the spuds), I would have thought any deal would have to be mega money plus a player anyway and that player would in that scenario be the player spurs want.

 

Remember after Princess Diana died, the Express somehow found a way to shoe-horn a picture of her onto their front page for about 5 years on the slenderest of pretexts? Just because it sold. I think it's like that, they just want to find a reason to write about it so they attach any significance to it that they can dream up.
I think it's inevitable that Coutinho will go next year, so they can claim any domino effect they like and pass it off as a bit of smart journalism.
Personally I'm just bored with reading about it. Even the most interesting of ideas gets jaded after the 400th time.

 

It's just something to talk/complain about saint, the board has been quiet lately and there's **** all else to talk about.

Coutinho will be leaving within the next year, so there is no reason for the newspapers to stop talking about it.

But, they should be and maybe have been stopped end of, the silence from Boston is deafening.

Like jb pointed out yesterday they are tapping him up, and after the saga has ran for so long it's time to spice it up and openly report them to Uefa for doing so, whether or not anything is done is another thing but it'll give the hacks something new to **** about and give the saga a new twist.

 

Barca will be tapping this lad up already
