probably read it off twitter. There's absolutely no reason to believe we have a total sum of 26million available to jurgen klopp. There is a reason to believe we have FFP to contend with. we could very well have a left full option in mind that costs that little. However after that who knows. Its not like its not "close" to a good squad. We've all endlessly debated where we need to improve but it always boils down to full backs, midfield and forward. with a smattering of goalie thrown in.
he's 17 and won't be 18 til next january. I think with gomez as RB cover and him as a possibility we will be looking to LB slot more.
the bbc like to put a negative spin on anything we do. next week it will be utd have a war chest of £300 mill to spend. see the pattern from bbc salford
I think it could be more of a FA cup time next season thing. I think klopp will go with gomez first and then bring him in. Depends on the cup draws. If we FINALLY get a cup draw at home that allows him to be used then he might play league cup and gomez might play for TAA in league/CL games when the groups are on. I think it'll be season after next he'll be really the cover option. hence... Left full needs a player next august to cover robertson and push him for his place.
Grujic to complete permanent Hertha move? Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is set for talks with Hertha Berlin over Marko Grujic - with the Bundesliga side keen to complete a permanent transfer. Serbian midfielder Grujic, 23, was Klopp’s first signing at Anfield but made just 14 appearances for the club following his arrival from Red Star Belgrade. He subsequently spent the second half of the 2017-18 season at Cardiff, before moving to Germany for the current campaign. Grujic, who stands 6ft 3in, has impressed with Hertha scoring making 22 appearances despite suffering a mid-season ankle ligament injury. Liverpool playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri could be sold this summer just a year after joining the Reds, according tothe Daily Mail. The newspaper claims that the Swiss star, on a reported £80,000-per-week [Source:Spotrac], may be given the boot despite enjoying an encouraging debut season at Anfield. The 27-year-old is listed as one of several potential summer departures, alongside the likes of Simon Mignolet, Dejan Lovren and Rafael Camacho. However, Shaqiri is undoubtedly the most surprising name on the list given that he only joined the club from Stoke City last summer. OPINION This is a bit of a curveball from the Mail here, isn’t it? There hasn’t really been any talk that Shaqiri could leave Liverpool this summer, so this is rather unexpected. Obviously he didn’t have a perfect season, but you would have thought that the Switzerland international did enough to earn himself another campaign on Merseyside at least. He started the season in excellent form and was being heralded as the player the Reds were missing in midfield. His creativity and inventiveness got the team out a few holes and he was looking like a very good signing indeed. However, he was essentially a passenger in the second half of the season. He barely featured for months on end, before coming back into the team for the second leg win over Barcelona earlier this month. However, he surely showed enough there to keep him at Anfield, didn’t he? This is a bit of a strange one.
so grujic, wilson and kent to give us some extra pennies to spend unless anyone sees any of them staying. i dont personally, klopp is trying to trim this sqaud so we have only who we need and i dont see them as ones we do. lovren is another hopefully sold to add some funds. moreno and sturridge will leave for nothing so dont count.
they would say that but i don't think they can afford what we want. his agent is looking for a move to spain form the report about atletico. We will want as much as we can lay hands on to fund our miserable 13mil transfer kitty
TBH I can't see any staying. We gave wilson a new contract to increase his value but i honestly don't think klopp rates him. Kent will be a reasonable fee after being young clogger of the year in scotland. Grujic will fetch 10mil i reckon. we will want far more. My view is unchanged that we need 2 players for every position, i think thats bore out this season again as logical. We just about have it but klopp doesn't rate some he's got like moreno so he plays others in the positions like milner. GK is a question.... Why pay 70k per week when you can pay 25k per week for example. If we could get a bidder for mingolet and wish him well we could reinvest in a yuong keeper. (not karius) So two could go out there... karius is virtually unsalebale now. RB for me is not at issue LB: moreno out CB: dunno tbh.. we might stay as is. can't see this de ligt stuff being anything but bullshit. no 6: think we are adequetely served there. windy and fabinho No 8: lallana has to go, but again unless theres the right no 8 coming? we need 4 of these. milner ox, keita and lallana right now. henderson also no 9: we have a mix here if brewter is ok. left wing: still think we are weak here. Mane or origi.... Right wing. its salah then shaqiri. squad numbers are there, its about quality and we IMO are a bit short in midfield and up top. If you asked me today I'd still say if we go into next year as is I'd be saying city for the title for that very reason.
I'm confused as to how FFP is put into practice, but in principle it is meant to ensure that clubs don't spend significantly more than they earn. Surely we've earned enough from sales, sponsorship and progress in the two top competitions to easily offset what we've spent - and have plenty left over? I agree that the Metro article is just bollocks.
basically spend what you want, fudge how you earn your income and if you get punished it will only be for cl, so has no bearing on you strolling to league title with basically 2 teams to choose from player wise.
Its a rolling 3 years. So if we have no made "profit" to cover transfers we are in toruble... a little... maybe... depending on who we bribe or who we stick two fingers up at. So if we made -28mil spend 2 years ago and 127 this year... then in THEORY.... LFC need to have made profit of 100 mil (we did in 2017 figures i think to voer that spend and show another profit to voer what we spned this year. I'm fairly confident we will do and show ability to spend 40 or 50mil net but we will see,
I understand the principle, but I've yet to see it implemented in a transparent fashion. Surely club accountants are on top of this anyway. As to our possible spend, the Beeb says this:
Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has urged Jurgen Klopp to sign Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves. The 22-year-old, who was signed by Wolves in a £16 million deal from Porto two years ago, has been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City. The £50m-rated midfielder has impressed for Wolves this season and played a key role in the club’s seventh-placed finish in the Premier League. And Collymore believes the Portugal international could be the signing to move Liverpool forward. ‘If you’re champions of Europe, that in itself is a huge catch,’ Collymore told Stadium Astro. There’s Roberto Firmino transfer news, but Reds have nothing to worry about The Brazilian is a jaw-droppingly effective footballer – someone who helps defensively and maximises the attacking potential of his team-mates at the same time. According to David Ornstein of theBBC, PSG manager Thomas Tuchel has made our no.9 a big target for this summer, but Liverpool will simply refuse to do business at any price. Firmino’s importance to Jurgen Klopp is too great for the club to even consider a deal – and the only thing Michael Edwards and co. are concerned about transfer-wise is getting Bobby some suitable backup. With Daniel Sturridge leaving, the Reds need another versatile attacker who can provide an adequate rotation option when our regular front-three are either injured or in need of a rest.
