A bizarre sense of entitlement amongst some on here.... Taste of L1champagne is no different to the one you get in the PL. Just in a bigger bottle...
The 2nd wave will have probably knocked the football off again by the team we play each other on Boxing Day Are you expecting to bounce straight back?
Not sure what to expect. We've struggled for a few years now since adopting the policy of losing half our squad every summer. I don't think that dropping a division suddenly solves all your problems. But as always there will be that new season optimism while we assume that all new signings will be brilliant. I do think we're different to the typical situation of a bigger club dropping into L1. We're not a squad full of journeymen on big contracts and no motivation. We've actually got a very young squad with little nous and that's been the problem. Hopefully that means there's room for improvement and lessons will have been learned following relegation, and we won't have to that that 3-year rebuild like a lot of the big clubs have had when dropping into League 1.
My sixtieth birthday in Blackpool then..... Last time I went to a city vs Blackpool game I was arrested outside the ground, didn’t get to see the match... too old for that **** these days...
It's not about entitlement for me, it's what we have achieved over the past 20yrs, from div.4 to Europe qualifiers, and now we are almost back to square one. One hell of a wasted opportunity !
Morning all, just seen you're our first fixture at home in the league (Gills) - hope you enjoy life down in L1, it's been a long time. Thankfully you will not have to face this... please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
