Weak league? I hope you're right - fans of bigger clubs than ours might tell you different, plenty have struggled to get out of this so called 'weak league'.
It is a 'weak league' and one we shouldn't be in. I agree Bobby did well at Ipswich 40 years ago. Sunderland bigger fan base Portsmouth on a par
Leeds, both the Sheffield clubs, Forest, Charlton, Coventry have all struggled in this league - we're here because we were bottom of the Championship; any Billy big bollocks fans are in for a shock, we'll be everybody's target ''Premier League, you're having a laff'' ...... you can hear it now.
One minute I feel optimistic. Next minute, reality sinks in. Same manager and assistant who were uttlerly clueless last season. An absolutely horrendous 2nd half of last season .... only a few weeks ago. Addition of yet more 'promising' 20 - 23 year old's', with only 1 experienced pro added to date (who on the other hand worryingly pretty much hasn't played for a season, and couldn't get a game even as a used sub in a mid-table CCC side last season). We need to retain what we've got and still add 2 or 3 quality, experienced signings and a couple of real talents on loan. Oh, and change the manager unless he can magically somehow reinvent himself.
I'm not particularly optimistic. I do think McCann's a bit clueless and dropping a division won't suddenly change that. As I said, I think we're free of some of the burdens other clubs have had when dropping into League 1, but we certainly have our own unique issues too.
we had never had it so good before tho , didn’t know much better . I really dislike this attitude of we are back to our level now , we’ve seen worse , etc ...that’s all in the past and should have remained in the past for a hell of a lot longer then it has - we had a chance to cement a new level and completely screwed it up through mismanagement and incompetence . So it’s not entitlement , it’s just complete frustration at an amazing opportunity tossed away
Think this is the feelings for many but unfortunately it's the position we are now in, we have to face it, move on and get on with having a go at getting back. It's difficult at the moment having the same optimism however without hope sport isn't worth bothering. Must admit it is so frustrating and annoying that we are where we are and it's going be hard getting back to the championship but in life the tide can and will change again. Let's hope we are not waiting to long for that to happen.
I will reserve any billy big bollocks until the final day (only if we are confirmed automatic). I think we are in for a rough ride ladies and gents, this will be no picnic. Everyone throwing around starting 11s etc. Lets be honest, we are probably gonna sell at least 3 or 4 of our best (I say loosely as we don't really have any...not really) players. We have league 1 player and it is going to be dire. Wake up. That is all!
I don't prescribe to this 'we are back to our level now',I've never said it,though I have said 'we've seen worse',because we have.If we're going to erase the past then let's start by erasing last season and come to terms with the fact that we are now a League 1 club.I'm not at all happy about us being here but we are and no amount of whinging will change that! We're all singing from the same songsheet here but the trouble is we're all in a different key...
